Great car, great price for the value.
After 1 year, 44,000 miles, I had not experienced any problem with this SUV. If you want a good, cheap, reliable, and safe SUV, take this one.

This is our 1st SUV, the whole family love it especially my 2 little boys! The mileage is better than our expectation. I love it very much and I feel safe sitting inside. Everything is just so perfect.

Continual break downs and has been hauled in several times.

Contaminated gas tank had to be removed and replaced but still continues to have problems today. It had to be hauled in several times for them to decide to replace everything but it still doesn't run correctly. My husband's afraid for me to drive 2 1/2 hours to see our son at school because the car continues to have problems. Sorry!...read morehide

Wish they had a little bigger SUV for larger families.

My father was manager of a Ford Co. most of my life. So you know what I drove (and I was happy) Until he retired. My husband and I decided to try a Volvo. We are on our 6th Volvo (our 2nd SUV).
We got one of the first SUV's in our area. People kept telling us we would be sorry because they hadn't worked out the bugs, yet. All I can say is there have been no big problems for us.
We've made trips from Alabama to Texas, up to Colorado, and back to Alabama several times. We have gotten better gas millage than our friends do with their different model (brand) SUV's.
I think we will always be Volvo people. A BMW was hit in the side right in front of us and folded in half! We were stuck in traffic and it came right for us. All it did was rock us back just a little and leave tire prints on the the front skin. It didn't even set off the air bags because of the way the Volvo is built and the space involved. It was unbelieveable and no one around could believe our car was not really damaged. We really feel safer in a Volvo than in any other automobile. The safety features are terrific!...read morehide

no steering wheel wood trim only on v8, options expensive

maintenance too expensive, could use more interior luxury, v8 has more options too choose from, other than that great ride smooth on freeway 3.2 engine feels good do not need premium gas could use reg unleaded

THE VOLVO XC 90 IS A GREAT CAR IF YOU WANT A SAFE MID-SIZED SUV.

THE INTERIOR IS VERY LUXURIOUS. THE RADIO IS A GREAT SYSTEM.THE TRUNK IS GREAT BECAUSE IT IS IN TO PARTS. THE SAFETY IS GREAT IN THIS CAR.

THE EXTIOR IS VERY GOOD LOOKING.

THE DOWNS ON THIS CAR ARE THE MPG BECAUSE IT ONLY GETS 19/20. ALSO THE THIRD IS SO TINY A CHILD'S KNEES TOUCH THE SECOND ROW SEAT. THE DASHBOARD IS VERY POOR WITH CHEAP, HARD PLASTIC....read morehide

The interior wears easily and the plastic parts are tacky

We are a Dodge family, and loved our Durango. Unfortunately, we tired of filling up at the gas station. So, we downsized to a smaller vehicle. Not a good idea - We wanted to purchase another 3 row vehicle, but not the Durango...The Volvo XC 90 proved to be our best choice!! Tires worn too quickly.

Other than the alignment needing to get done frequently and tires getting worn so much that I needed to buy a set 15 months into my lease, this suv is awesome. It drives great, fuel economy is pretty good, it looks good and it's the safest suv out there 3 years in a row. I researched several cars before getting my xc90. I had a 6 month old and was pregnant again. I truely love this suv. You can't go wrong with it....read morehide

poor turning radius

I dumped a mercedes 500M for this car and believe it was a correct decison. Lots of room, very quiet and no trouble in 14K miles. The gas mileage is OK, remember this is a heavy vehicle with a big V8....the only choice for mountain dwellers.
I suspect that the resell will not be great ala the Landcruiser, but most Volvo owners keep their vehicle for 5+ years....read morehide

Saftey, Build Quality, Dynaudio Sound System(worth every pennny)

Fuel Economy.

I love this vehicle, I highly recommend the Nav system and the Dynaudio system is flawless. Extremely smooth ride at highway speeds. I would highly recommend this vehicle.
