I have had my Q5 for 4 months and love it. I seriously considered the GLK (rear leg room is for kids only and looks are a bit ugly) as well as the RDX, Volvo XC60 and others. This is my 3rd Audi and I replaced a Volvo S60 AWD with it. The handling is great and once the transmission gets used to your driving style the performance is strong. Pick up on the highway is all you need and take off from a red light is not a problem at all. I tend to drive fairly aggressive and most all of my driving is in the city. The rear leg room is the best I could find in this class and rear seats are plenty comforable. The cargo space while not huge is about all you can expect from a small SUV like this. It has great privacy for the rear compartment and quickly folds down and expands to give you a decent cargo space. Drivers area and controls are quite ergonomic and once you sort through the basics of the MMI and get things set up its use becomes 2nd nature. I am a bigger guy and there is as much room as I need though the seat bolsters can get a little uncomfortable on longer road trips. The display and gauges and the overall fit and finish is what I have come to expect from Audi and overall am very pleased with my purchase. I was not able to get the premium package and really don't miss it othen then a few things like the Xenon lights and home link etc. The SD slot in the stereo is great and I don't need to worry about carrying my IPod when on the road as I can carry as much music as needed on a couple of chips. As far as price it is right in the ball park with all of the others with the exception of the new Volvo XC60 which I found quite over priced. Once you load up a Honda CRV and a RAV4 V6 to similar trim levels there is not that much difference in price and the quality difference is significant. Overall love this SUV and looking forward to upgrading to the Premium model in a couple of years....read morehide

It was either this or the Lexus RX 450h and after about a month of going back and forth, I opted for my Audi Q5. Setting a new standard for this sector of the industry. It stands out. I still get looks from other drivers. As for performance, this is definitely a driver's SUV (CUV). One thing for sure, you feel confident when driving, like if you were in a Porsche going a 150 MPH down the interstate. Little to none body roll on curves at high speeds. Sometimes, you forget you're driving a SUV. As for the driver and front passenger, this is a dream vehicle. Audi didn't spare anything when it came to the fit and finish to the interior. I think the only car that EQUALS it would be a Lexus. Now, the rear is a different story. Even though the wheel base is larger than most, they could have put a little more. I have one kid and it seems like she is cramped in the back. Fuel economy is not bad, but comparing it with the other SUV I was planning to purchase it lacks in that department. Hopefully, Audi plans to bring the Q5 TDI here to the US that would level the playing field. Technology again is equal to that of Lexus. However, the interface could be a little bit more user friendly. If you don't know the system well enough, it tends to take your eyes off the road a little too much (in all fairness, I had the same problem with the Lexus). The worst part is cargo space. It looks big and wide when the rear hatched is closed, but when you open it you will be disappointed. My golf bag hardly fits in it. Although, for the ordinary day to day operation (i.e. groceries) it would do just fine. Overall, the Q5 is not the best in everything, but does everything well which something that no other SUV or CUV can claim....read morehide

One reviewer said ride is too stiff but that's a performance vehicle that transmits road feel and control to driver...that's ok. Cruise along at 80 on the Jersey Turnpike, feels like 50 mph. My set up warning indicators remind me to slow down. Dealer explained 4 wheel drive prevents initial getaway...I'm actually afraid I'll get rear-ended because in traffic the car doesn't accelerate from zero unless you really punch it (great afterwards). Interior controls require more reading of the manual than the Sunday NY Times. A few little quirks. Light switch protrudes enough to smash your knee..its a tight fit to enter driver side especially if other drivers are shorter..must move seat way back before entering.
Leased car for price of 2 Honda CRVs..is it really worth it?" Under the "you only live once" category why not? Come winter and Audi's stability features save our lives, I guess it is worth the extra cash. I rated Value low strictly from $$ paid to own (or lease) a car. ($540/mo, $2500 down). Bottom line..if price is a consideration look elsewhere but if you can either afford it or want to live it up once in your practical life ..then go for it. Need milk or bread, not to worry, the kids will take the car anytime they are allowed to use it, even to run errands for you. Lexus, Acura, etc, suvs are one step up from Soccer mom vehicles. The Audi Q5 is a top shelf "stylin" set of wheels. Open that enormous moon roof and enjoy the day. reliability...No comment, car is 2 months old but no problems at all yet....read morehide

I just picked mine up last night and though it is still very new I love this car. Saw it for the first time a few days ago and knew I had to have it. Drove a 3 series for 6 years and loved that car. Nothing out their compares to a BMW 3. This time around I wanted something larger and higher off the ground. This car was it! Handles great and the technology / exterior/interior design is flawless....read morehide

Having owned the Q5 for a little over 2 weeks it is a pure joy to drive. My wife and I traded in our sedan for this car and we love the extra space and the added room to haul more stuff. In addition the Q5 gets way better mileage than our sedan we've seen a max of about 32 mpg on the highway and 22mpg in the city so no complains there. The dash is really well laid out and the car comes loaded with features. Love the IPod connectivity and the seats are extremely comfortable. The handling and the power of this car is absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a high end crossover you cannot go wrong with the Q5....read morehide

After being with Lexus for almost 11 years and driven 4 different cars I decided to try something new. I've had Q5 for about 4 weeks now. Best built car ever, elegant, sporty, best vehicle to drive and ride in. Excellent fuel consumption, 17 - 18 mpg city and 28 - 30 mpg highways with 89. I'm in love with my car....read morehide
