I fell in love with this car as soon as i saw it on top gear so i had to convince my dad to trade in his M3, which was only too easy. This is the type of car you sneak out with middle of the night and feel good about waking up every morning its they joy of my day. This car makes you experience what gorgeous women do when they know people want what they have. I dont know how to explain what i feel for this car but youll just love it. If you want more comfort and a better daily driver than a Ferrari or Lamborghini at 1/2 to 1/3 the cost the Audi R8 is for you. It isn't as powerful as it's more expensive competitors, but it does have the super car styling to compete effectively. The big plus is the roomy interior, creature comforts and the comfortable ride. You can make this car your daily driver and you won't miss much if anything from you high end German Sedan.What you will get is plenty of looks from other motorists and lots of "thumbs up". The car is rare enough that even where high end Italian sports cars are common place, your will get a second look. The current 420BHP V8 isn't quite up to the others in power, but it has more than enough for most drivers. The new $50,000 more expensive V10 should narrow the gap, but I'm not sure it will be worth the extra money. Overall the R8 is a good value for a super car....read morehide

Purchased As Used

I bought this car "slightly used" in virtually new condition. Those who say the R-Tronic shifts clunkily are out of their minds. Yes, it has a pronounced feel when shifting, but in my view it only adds to the experience. This car is a real head turner wherever it goes & a joy to drive.

Just a beautiful car to drive and look at. Picked mine up few days ago, and very pleased so far.

Car corners like it is on rails. Excellent fit and finish. I went with the manual transmission, which I reccomend, as the tiptronic is poor in slow city diving. The manual is a beautiful transmission.

Handles simular to the Gallardo, only quieter and smoother. A supercar for a fraction the price

Possibly add a turbo to boost the hp to around 500 and a 4.0 sec. 0-60.

Great appearance and sneaky fast. A low cost F430 and Gallardo. Tha Italians now have some competition.

Overall this car is amazing, it looks great drives fast and has V-8, and I loved it when I first saw it. One problem though, the GT-R. The GT-R costs less. it's faster and it looks almost as cool. Audi made a great car, but NIssan made a better car.

Saw the new 2010 Audi R8 in St Pete, FL this week! It has a v-10 which is faster than the '09 v-8

Still slower than should be, handles stiff... Only drove it 2 miles - hit 160mph!!

The 2010 is HOT!!! Handles same as 2009, much better pick up and acceleration. Car purrs : ) Save your money and buy one when released in July 09

I was a little disappointed with the performance. little low on torque- ran out of gears quickly

Could have been more powerful but for 120k wow its a great deal if your not as critical as I am and most aren't. For my dollars i would still go for the 911 Turbo. I bleed Porsche after working for them for a few years. The V10 variant would be the car to have as long as it doesn't go over $150k.

What a looker and tons of room for tall people.

A little low on storage. _Yes its not a commuter, but it would be hard to take a weekend trip although extremely nice for long distances - where would the luggage go?

For those that park it on the curb and want people thinking your hot stuff this is the ride.

For those that want the hair on the neck to stand up go over to Stuttgart for the best German built sports cars and I'm not talking about MB....read morehide
