I have 6 months on my lease and can't wait to get out of this car. The car looks and drives nice, but I can't believe I walk to my car hoping it starts. Battery drains, bmw service rep said I need to charge the battery every night because my daily trips are too short... who has time to charge their car battery??? This isn't an electric car! I've had to jump start this car twice this week, and taking car back to bmw tomorrow for the 4th time on this issue.
Sad when you are walking to your car after work and the guy with the 8 year old Kia is helping you jump your 5 series!
Bottom line... I can't wait until my lease is over. I'm going to buy a Honda or something. Don't say you weren't warned....read morehide

Typical, gorgeous BMW classic look on the outside - can't be beat for distinctiveness and class. This "beast" a bit slow on acceleration, but can't beat the ride once you get up to speed. Better, much smoother ride than the last model. Great lights, and driving position. Cup holders are silly. iDrive is confusing and gear shift lever a bit unintuitive, but any simpleton can eventually figure it out. If you are looking for status, luxury and an excellent drive then this BMW will be hard to beat. For value, go elsewhere - i.e., Japanese cars....read morehide

The BMW 5 series is a beautiful car. Handles great, power, luxury. But the cost is ourrageous. The maintenance cost just makes me mad once the warranty expires. I wish I bought the new Pontiac G8 instead, I drove one of those and it is even nicer for half the price. I think the Pontiac G8 will be my next car unless BMW wakes up....read morehide

The I Drive is my biggest complaint because I need the Nav for work and it is so touchy you have to start all over if you do one thing wrong VERY FRUSTRATING! My Acura RL was very user friendly and the screen was much better/easier to look at while driving.

My BMW is the smoothest riding automobile I have ever driven, the fuel economy is great and the ladies love it.
