I needed a vehicle to move my gear and didn't want an SUV, so I got the HHR. It has the space I need, but it has more than enough problems to fill a whole showroom. Check engine light has sent me to the dealer a dozen times in a few months for a variety of problems - electronic, catalytic converter, misfiring, transmission speed sensor. The HHR also has developed annoying creaking sounds when turning at slow speed or backing up and the windshield wiper control is not reliable and may need replacment. Although the HHR filled my space needs in a vehicle that gets better mileage than an SUV, this is overwhelmed by the poor quality of the vehicle and the need to continually take it in to the dealer to get something fixed - and the slow-turn creaking has never been fixed. The HHR is not a vehicle I can recommend to anyone.
