HIGHWAY AT SPEED LIMIT ON FLAT / WHY DID THE 4.7L ONLY LAST 4yrs 2000 thru 2003 AND THAT WAS WITH 85K MILES.
THE ONLY MAINTAINANCE HAS BEEN LIFTERS, ALLONG WITH
CHAIN,CHAIN GUIDES,AND CHAIN TENSIONERS.
IT NOW HAS 108k & RUNS GREAT WITH THE SAME MILEAGE!!!!...read morehide

I ordered this in 2003, First one in my area. we traded our 2001 Durango R/T in on it. It has been a Great vehicle. The Hemi power is great for towing our trailers, or passing... I would have liked to have seen the vehicle hold its value better in the market on a trade towards the Chrysler Aspen. I have 150,000 miles on this Durango, and the services needed at certain intervals can be a little costly. But you will have that with your GM and Ford products as well. Look into the required maint. when purchasing any new vehicle. You may be suprised at the cost of owning some of the larger SUV's...read morehide

I drove this car while being with my family on a sightseeing tour in south western states in America. It was very economic. It was comfortable (a lot of place for legs in the back seats) and reliable. It also has a lot of room in the back, so we could easily place all our luggage. I have a 2003 and it has been a great vehicle. No major problems. It has been subject to a caouple of recalls, but then, most have. Wish the gas mileage was better.

I have owned 3 Durango's in the last 6 years and I plan to get a new one next year. Out of 22 vehicles in the last 20 years, they have been the best vehicle I have ever had. With a litte work on your air intake system, you can boost your gas milage. The Durango I have now has a DVD/entertainment system. It certainly keeps the kids happy. Has lots of room. Everyone is so comfortable. Its a dream if your taking a long trip. with the Hemi, you can certaily get there fast and the 4x4 has no trouble at all in the Appalachiam Mountains.With all the bells and whistles, you dont like having to ge out of it. This is my 3rd Durango. I love this car. Plenty of room, safe, comfortable, versatility. Can go from camping and tailgating to valet parking at fine dining. Excellent on road trips. I love the power of my Hemmi!!

Mine is the first Durango of the current generation, a 2004 4X2 Limited. It has 134,000 miles on it and still has the original factory brakes, has never had a tune-up, has only the 2nd set of tires, and gets 21.5 MPG highway with the cruise set at 70 MPH. And, the 5.7L Hemi power is awsome! If there is any such thing as a love affair with an SUV, then I'm having a love affair....read morehide
