I have always owned Toyota's until I bought this van. Never again will I buy a Dodge. I have 20,000 miles on my can and I've had to replace front brake pads and rotors twice, rear brakes and rotors once, replaced the tires already. This is rediculous. DO NOT BUY THIS VAN.

I have owned 3 of the body types of the Dodge Caravan, I've owned a 1995(used), a 2005(new lease) and now I have a 2008(lease as well). First thing I MUST SAY I financed through Chrysler and they got me out of the 2005 to the 2008 w/o any hassle. I loved that smooth transaction.
The van gets better in time. I love it sooooo much that I bought one for my mom(used). I LOVE the MY GIG infosystem it is a touch screen radio with a Hard drive to store songs and pictures. It is sooo much better than a satellite radio, you are the DJ. My playlist vary from Christmas, R&B, Gospel, Kid music, 90's music... so I can listen to whatever I'm in the mood for. I have the swivel seats with the table. OMG THE KIDS LOVE THIS! The caravan is for the entire family so it is important that everyone loves it, especially the kids. I purchased headrest DVD's and there is an outlet for them that turns off when the van turns off. There is an outlet to charge your phone that stays powered even when the car is off so your phone can continue to charge. There are outlets in the BACK that are awesome for a tail gate party, you can watch a portable TV. The stow and go lays down FLAT, so you can move things like in a pick up. There is plenty of room and the middle row slides up, so you can realistically fit 7 ADULTS IN THIS VAN. I am a marching band mom, and I can fit kids, and instruments in there. Also there is a cup holder for everyone in my van. My mom's van has the cool feature of the rear window letting down, and she has a regular radio, which still has a Sirius satellite radio system. However different the two vans are, it remains the same, reliable, safe, drives smooth, great mileage (even with low grade gas), comfortable, starts every time, and the service warranty - wow it is cool to have a lifetime power train, because something did mess up after 30,000 on my mom's used van but the warranty was transferable so she was able to not only find out WHY her check engine light was on but get it repaired at no cost to her. As others testifies my breaks shake too, maybe if we complain enough we can get a recall. Other than that. I LOVE IT!!!...read morehide

The van started to vibrate when you apply the brakes with 7,000 Miles on it. Dealer said it had good pads. I took it to a brake shop, the rotors were turned, new pads were put on. The same thing happen again after 12,700 miles. I think they should have used a different rotor. Love the stow-and-go seats....read morehide

My 2009 Caravan is a company vehicle, I drive around 4,500 miles a month mosly in the moutains of West Virginia. After 11 Caravans over the past 20 years, this is the best by far. Build quality is much better than past caravans. Front seats are wide and comfortable. Finally all four wheels feel like their headed in the same direction, the ride is solid, but comfortable, steering much improved. Dodge has finally done away with the 6 button cruise control on the steering wheel and now has 1 lever 1 button behind the steering wheel like Toyota's that works and is easy to use. Stow and go seating is much improved over past stow and go seating, pieces aren't falling off so far. Gas milege is averaging 21 MPG. The 3.3 works to hard in the moutains, but should be fine in flat areas. Side view mirrors are awful, to narrow for the vans size. Sometimes the power side doors have a mind of their own, they don't want to shut. Over all this is a great vehicle compared to older Caravans, but still behind Honda and Toyota vans, but if you can get one for say five grand less than the imports I'd get the Caravan, put the money in savings because I have a feeling you'll spend it over the next 150,000 miles on brake jobs. The transmission seems to shift better than in the past, hasn't slapped from 1st. to 2nd. like my 2007 did. I really like the gold paint and hate the white cloth head liner, who was the rocker scientist that thought white would hold up well....read morehide

It has alot of space, but it is starting to have things go wronge after only 1 year and 40 miles. Looks like I will need to use the powertrain warrantee. I have a Honda Pilot and the Honda is a much better vehicle. The ride of the Dodge is alright, but the seats are very uncomfrtable.
