I still have my 1993 Dodge Dakota and wanted a new one, BIG mistake. Think hard if you want to take the new Dakota's on the highway. It seems worse than ridin a Yugo. What a shame. If you are going 65 and hit a couple of ( Cement ) road dividers, it feels like you are going to go airborn. I would not buy this truck again. THe ride is way too soft. I have contacted many * Dodge mechs* and they also say the same thing. and they would NOT buy it. I am so, "Let Down" by Dodge and this horriable truck's Ride. I drive a Dodge Dakota ( 2002 ) Daily at work, and the ride is Totally different. Against my better judgement ( I wanted to rebuild my 1993 - but everyone ( mech's ) said to get a new one ) big mistake. SO, after talkin to the Dodge Mech's. they said i would have to rebuld the suspention of the Brand New 2009. to have it ride / handle like it should....read morehide

i still have my old Dakota with 586,000 miles on it and I will keep it until it dies which may be never. But I had to grab a new Dakota. Looks are great. Very reliable so far. Hopefully this new Dakota will be as durable as my old one. I was going to get a full sized Ram but this Dakota is all I really need. Its truck enough for me. the Ford Ranger is not even close to this truck, I actually did go test drive a new Ranger and wow was it a was of time. The Ranger is based on plastic cheap materials, i hated it....read morehide

I purchased my Dakota in 2005. After 42 k miles the suspension is piece of junk, a lot of leaks and rust. Never ever any Dodge again!!!! It is not worth any penny.

Best mid-sized truck, towing, power, looks, off-road. Dodge has been making trucks the longest I can really tell with this truck. I only needed a mid sized truck and the Dakota had the best towing and power and looks great!
