I purchased the 1500 a month ago and first thing I did is go off road.
I was so impressed, we took it up some nasty hill with huge craters and it went right up without breaking a wheel loose, next I let our friend (girl) drive it, and she had some wheel spin, but thats when we discovered the locker front and rear. she turned the wheel a little tapped the gas and you could feel it lock up. then the truck lurched forward no problem. This is a very sharp truck. Lots of power although it doesn't feel like HP is up to 390. The new forward leaning shape and the lower profile enhances the looks a lot over previous models. The new side mirrior lights are very nice when your getting in or out at night, they light the area around the truck. I'm not into heated seats, but the heated wheel is nice on those cold mornings. The rearview camera is brighter than most I have seen, and the screen is large enough to make it useful. The ride is excellent and this model doesn't sway as much in corners. The manual shift on the wheel shift handel is ackward to use, might be better if you have the center console and floor type shift. No covered change holder between the cup holders is a mistake. Fit and finish is very good, seams are lined up nicely....read morehide

I have had every Dodge Truck Model made since 1995. I had just traded in my 2005 Power Wagon for the 2008 Ram Truck 6-months ago. As soon as I drove by Bonneville Dodge and saw the new 2009 Ram 1500 with Dual Exhaust and its New Body Style I was Sold! I bought a Mettalic Black 1500 SLT 4X4 with all the Goodies, Bucket Seats, Floor Shifter, Alpine Stereo Etc. and cant believe what a spectacular truck it is all the way around! I cant go anywhere with out being stopped by some one wanting to see it!
This is by far the Best Vehicle Dodge has ever manufactured! Awesome Power, Hemi Engine, Excellent Body Finish, Plush Interior, and the New Coil Spring Suspension and with only 2000 miles I am getting 17 mpg in the city already. Nothing Compares to this Truck!!...read morehide

I used my truck to tow 6000 lbs and it felt as if they weren't there, and at 65 to 70 mph gas average is excellent. As an upgrade, If you use the K&N cold air induction and replaced the pipe and muffler with a dual exhuast system, you will now be over 400 HP and it really feels like you are being pinned to your seat on take off.
