Purchased As New
This is my third Escape, after having owned '04 and '06 4X4 XLT's. I can say that the performance difference with the V6 and 6 speed transmission is a vast improvement over the prior years. The vehicle handles well, acceleration and braking are great and overall comfort is good. I took a beating on my trade-in, but it's very typical of this vehicle..own it for 3 years and it's worth half of what you paid for it. One cool new feature is the SYNC system that allows you to use your bluetooth-enabled cell phone in a hands-free environment. You can also add a MP 3 player easily, and the built in cd player will also handle mp3 discs as well. They system recognizes voice commands and will dial a phone number simply by telling it to do so....it really amazes people that have never seen this before. There is plenty of cargo space for most items, especially when the rear seats are folded down. Gas mileage seems improved as well...I can go further on a tank than my previous Escapes. I went with the Torch red color...it really looks nice with the tinted windows and charcoal interior.
