this is my first small truck since high school but so far it is a true truck it halls what i need to and it gets great mileage think its right at 28 miles per gallon around town so highway must be higher. it dose need more room than you think when pulling out in to traffic. the 2.3 L4 motor dose a nice job how ever it would be nice to have a little more get up and go with a load in it. the seats are comfortable for what it is and the a/c dose put a strain on the motor but what 4banger has a lot of get up and with the a/c on and i have been hauling stuff for years the fact that the rangers tie downs are up high is a plus how ever the bed rails do seem to dint easy and be a little low but we take every thing out the tailgate so not a problem for me. the fact that a 6'2" 340 lbs man can ride in this truck for a long time and not feel so fatigued like some small cars or trucks was half the battle for me. so to give a honest opinion this is a well built truck it drives well and handles great it dose every thing i think a small truck should and then some.trucks like this one is the reason that ford f series have been #1 for the last half century ! the only thing i would Chang if any would be the tires put some bigger 16" or just some good old LT tires that have a higher limit for hauling purpose...read morehide

Good for traveling. I will be putting overload springs or something on this truck. It is quite the showpiece and people come to about how it handles and how is the ride, etc, etc. Already I have had friends looking into the Ford Ranger. This is my 5th Ford Ranger and is by far the best truck I have owned so far. It is not made for hauling 10,000 lbs or take a payload of 5000 lbs but it will still haul a small camper and if you beef up the rear end for a couple of hundred bucks, It will handle a decent payload....read morehide
