love my hybrid; wouldn't trade it for ANY car; it is fun, comfortable and a pleasure to drive; great standard stereo

Car gets around 45 miles on the highway and about the same in the city. Usually the battery takes over in the city unless it's needed. The Auto-Stop feature is cool also.

I have had my 2009 hybrid for 2 weeks and am getting 43-44 mpg. With a little self control an the use of the cruise control I think I can get better than the 45 mpg rating on the car. Cruise control makes a big difference to the economy. Also driving in the mid 60s instead of 70 makes a big difference. I would recommend this car to anyone who has to commute to work. I drive 65 miles one way....read morehide

Overall, I'm very happy with this car. It handles well, is comfortable, and certainly lives up to its promise, gas-mileage-wise. My only gripes would be (as shown in the cons, above) the slipping of the variable transmission on acceleration (accompanied by engine roar), the fact that the rear seat does not fold forward to allow for more trunk space, and the emergency brake lever (for someone 5' - 11" tall) is in an uncomfortable place for my right leg. But otherwise, it's a great car! I've had mine for just over 2 years, and have had zero problems with it (except for a few recalls for minor issues)....read morehide

I just bought my 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid last week and am already averaging 40-42 mpg (mostly city driving). The salesman told me that it would take about a month to see some major results but I am already seeing them with under 200 miles on the car! I didn't get the leather and built in navigation because it was too expensive, but the car in itself was a great deal. Go with a Civic Hybrid and forgo the 2 year wait list for a Prius! Plus Toyota jacking up the price so it won't be a better deal and the MPGs are very competitive....read morehide

The digital gauge to see current mpg is teaching me to have a light foot. I get about 45 to 50 mpg when I hold a steady speed, coast to stops, and don't inch-by-inch at the intersection when the engine automatically turns off.
I drive alot to and from work, kids' schools, practices, and cubscouts. I use to fill up twice a week in my minivan, but I actually think I'll make it to two weeks without a fill up!...read morehide

I bought a new 2007 civic hybrid in April of 2006. I've driven it in one New York north country winter and two summers. It's a great car. Handles well in all conditions even heavy snow (with four studded snow tires). Plenty of power for the interstate and also for mountain roads. I've average about 44 mpg in the summer with mixed driving in the mountains, city, etc. In winter with snow tires and in snow storms, I have never gotten less than 37 mpg. I have had no problems with the car at all. The only problem is road noise with snow tires and summer tires. Plan to play the radio LOUD!...read morehide

I recently purchased an 08 Civic hybrid. I have been extremely happy with this car so far. It rides and handles well. It looks good. The navagation system is easy to operate. My Civic hybrid is silver with navy blue interior. This is a good combination. While it is considered a small car, it has good head and leg room. I am very happy with this purchase....read morehide
