very happy I purchased this over the Toyota Corolla, having driven an automatic for years, fun to get back into the manual transmission.

Researched before I bought. Was pretty specific in what I wanted. 5-Speed MT with red exterior and black interior. The LX-S is the only civic with this configuration. Drove 6hours 1way to buy from dealer - because only 1 of 2 dealers in US that had this model. I drive 150 miles per day and this car gets 41 mpg....read morehide

I bought the car in complete need of an affordable, college budget type of car. The gas mileage is great for my 230 mile trip, and the handling is almost perfect. The windshield wipers are great as well.
My complaints are few: The parking break is the most annoying thing about this car, why they didn't make it a pedal break I have no idea, but it is placed right next to the gear shifter and your knee constantly bumps into it. Also, the road noise on the highway is loud; almost all of the wind can be heard.
In all reality, if you are on a tight budget, and need a good, reliable, yet not complete luxury car, the Civic is way to go.
If you have more money and want a stylish ride with great gas mileage, I would of gone with the 2009 Chevy Malibu or Accord....read morehide
