I've loved the car since i bought it! was alittle surprized the increase in insureance cost, and having to use high grade gas. high rpms, smooth shifter, sharp interior, clean lines!! Just a overall great car!! I have worked at Honda for over 12 years and have never bought a Honda till now. This will not be my last one!!...read morehide

The 2009 Honda Civic Si is a great value. 197 HP with the nicest shifter and clutch I've ever encountered. I disagree with the stereo complaints but I'm 50 years old, so maybe my expectations are lower? I love the ability to use a memory stick for music. The seats are a little narrow and too firm for my liking but the overall car enjoyment factor outweighs the negatives. I could live without the wing and would prefer a rear lip spoiler. Great interior room in the front and back. You get a lot of car for the money! Please add a power drivers seat Honda!...read morehide

I just bought this car this month so I have not driven it too much (100 miles so far) and I like the performance, the turning and control, the shifting and design is great

I've got 40 years on the typical SI buyer. Wanted a car to play with before I get too old to do it yet still get decent gas mileage. The car is a gas to drive. S turns that are a bit white knuckles at anything much over 35mph in a typical car are not a problem at 50mph in the SI. Car corners as if on rails, flat and only a hint of understeer. Ride is a lot better than I was expecting after reading the reviews and just about a perfect compromise between excellent handling and livable stiffness. The engine definitely likes it above 4000rpm and really comes on like a freight train above 6,000 but will still pull from below 2000rpm. 4th is a perfect traffic gear usable from 30 mph on up to well past the legal limit. Don't have to row the car through the gearbox in normal driving. Keeping the reves above 4000 and you really feel the speed potential of the car. Was driving home yesterday and decided not to take the turn into my neighborhood, a 100 miles later thought I'd better turn around before my wife reported me missing. The car is extremely easy to drive. The clutch pedal has a light touch and a long travel that makes it easy to launch and shift smoothly. My wife originally wanted me to get an auto EXL just in case she needed to drive it. Got her to drive the SI and she had no problem with the stick shift or me buying the car. Made a mistake in giving her a key, she snuck off with the car the first morning we owned it. The car is not a plushmobile and needs driver input to perform well but tha's what I wanted....read morehide

I may catch a lot of flack for this, but why is this car a 6-speed? I've driven it several times and my only complaint is the driver is CONSTANTLY shifting. I know it was designed to be a high reving vehicle, but if you do a lot of city driving, you can't relax for even a second without pushing in the clutch and shifting. I still almost bought one because it is one of the most comfortable cars I've ever sat in and the standard equipment is great, but I just didn't like the 6-speed transmission. I also test drove the 5-speed WRX and even though it has appoximately 80 more hp, the 5-speed seemed right to me. This is a personal preference so this may not apply to everyone....read morehide

I bought this car a week ago, and it is a blast to drive. I traded in a 02 civic lx. This car performs at high rpms, but is still a great daily driver at lower revs. The 6 speed manual trans is very easy to drive. The sound system is great too. I wish there was an awd version since I live outside Chicago, and the winters can be rough. It is not a big issue for me. This is my second Honda, and wouldn't stutter to buy another. Their resale value is awesome. I traded my 02 civic with 90,000 miles and never had anything other than normal maintenance to do on it. I drive 70 miles a day for work so I needed a good commuter car, but I still wanted some performance....read morehide

Test drove the SI 2 door today. Never owned a Honda. Would love to see a V6, turbo or Supercharger option. The salesman was a COP so I got to really test it on city streets. Between 7 and 8k on the tack it was like a powerband on the dirt bikes I used to ride. Out of the 3 I drove today it ranked the highest. Others being Mazda RX6 convertible, and a Pontiac G6 GT Hard top Convertible. For an old guy like me it needs more options. "Gadget freak"...read morehide

I purchased my 2009 Civic Si Sedan 4 monthes ago and enjoy driving it any chance I get. My ride quality is extra stiff due to the Honda Factory Performance suspension upgrade but the handling and stance makes it worth while.
