Write a ReviewLike almost every other car on the road, this car has its ups and downs. (That's the exact sentence I say on every single one of my reviews.) I'll start with the down, the single one down. First of all, it has a 197 horsepower V4. That's better than most compact sedans, but come on folks, this is a sport sedan. Where's the 250 horsepower V6 or even the AVAILABLE 310 horsepower V8 (for example)? Honda needs more power, considering they wanted this to be a sport sedan. It could use a little more SPORT. Before you walk away from this... about $22,000 "sport" sedan, there are quite a few ups. Although the Civic SI has a bigger engine, it delivers acceptable and ALMOST good fuel economy, with an EPA estimated 21 city, 29 highway. That's about 5 miles per gallon less than the normal Civic, but that's still decent gas mileage. Next, the Civic SI delivers a 0 to 60mph time of 6.2 seconds, which isn't very impressive these days, but is enough to make drivers say "The Civic SI is a fun car." The Civic SI starts at $22,005. I wonder what the extra $5 is for, but it is a pretty well priced sport sedan. The Honda Civic SI is also more luxurious than the Civic. The SI comes standard with a leather wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, heated leather front seats, air conditioning, interior air filter, and more. So, the 2009 Honda Civic SI isn't any Ferrari, Mercedes AMG, or Audi RS, but it is a reasonably entertaining car for those who don't want to break the bank with $90,000 AMG's or RS's. Overall, I'd give the car a 95%, an A. It's fairly quick, fairly luxurious, fairly inexpensive, delivers fairly good fuel economy, and is a fairly awesome car....read morehide

I actually own a 2006 SI for about 6 months now, I was able to pick it up for a really good price from a BMW dealership.... I went to test drive the car one afternoon, and without driving manual for many years, it just came back to me, and very easy to drive... after the test drive, knew that I just had to have this car...awesome fuel economy (max on a full tank 389 miles) but the only negative is that you need to fill it with SUPER, if you don't you can certainly feel the difference in economy and performance...the car drives around town smoothly, but on the highway this car is a racecar....soon as you hit 6000 rpm's the car kicks into a completely different gear...and takes off like a rocket..overall I would recommend this car to ANYONE. Just as long as you know how to drive a manual, because they don't come in automatic...read morehide

Meet Dr. jeckle and Mr. hyde! You can drive this car very confindently around town smooth as butter. and if you shift before the 5,000 rpm mark it rewards you with excellent fuel econemy. But if you dare go above 5,000 rpm this thing switches cams and begins to scream all the way to its 8,500 rpm redline! At the end of my test drive I actually got out and checked for the turbo charger! Now I have been in the car bussiness for years, but I never messed with hondas now I truly feel like I missed something big. For those of you who have ever rode dirt bikes this thing is like a cr80 another screamer this time two stroke and missing two wheels but more alike than you think. but rev the dirt bike and it will hit power band and wheelie a 200 pound man all the way down the trail. Now thats the feeling I got when I got out of this car. I did not expect this small sports car to be very fast but it rewarded me with a great exhaust note and not rice at all but a great engine sound I did not expect to hear. I heard some people say you have to rev it to make it go fast. You have to rev every car to make it go fast if your in the right gear this car will reward the driver in you in every way. And thats pretty hard to find at any price point!...read morehide

I melt into my sporty seats when i first got into my car. The gear box is so smooth and so short. Bottom end is surprisingly high considering a fairly low torque rating. The doors are very solid sounding when you close them. The stock sound system is very nice. The handling is very good. I was surpised how how solid the handling was without being to stiff. Over all I would recommend this car to anyone....read morehide
