After owning 2 new BMW's and 1 new Mercedes I traded my Mercedes for a CRV..it's without a doubt my favorite of any vehicle I've ever owned. It rides great, it is loaded with amenities, good gas mileage and all the room is terrific..but best of all..I can actually get in this car from ground level vs. feeling like I had to crawl into the lower cars, as well it's perfect for my 89 year old Mother who has to use a walker..she can get in with ease...vs..having to almost roll onto the ground from the previous cars..I'd do it all over again!!...read morehide

I live in Finland and just bought CR-V (model 2009). I had a Renault before Honda so I've (hopefully) changed to a better quality and reliability. Honda CR-V has won several car tests in magazines or get well rated among top 3 in Europe.
However, I'm STILL getting familiar with the "steering touch/feeling"(I don't know if that is a right english term but I hope you understand it)
I've noticed that sidewind has quite easily an effect on the steering. When I'm breaking with a smaller gear, it has a slight effect on the steering and in both of these cases, I need to do slight corrections with the steeringwheel in order to keep my car in the middle of the lane. On a long trip on a windy day, it's quite wearing to the driver.
Now I'm quite surprised and worried after reading the comments of the steering in snow&ice. I also heard later that heating is not strong enought when temperature is below -20 celcius degrees.
I bought a 4WD just due to the weather conditions in Finland and trusting to the tests in magazines etc. I hope CR-V won't let me down.
In other respects I've been happy with my CR-V....read morehide

And Honda got rid of the feature of the back window opening, which I liked to carry gear. It is terrible in the snow, I thought about buying winter tires to replace the All weather ones. It has to be the car because the Bridgestones all weather are rated well. I am telling you the old CRV I had the original model could handle anything, this 2008 model is the pits in the snow. My friend drives the new Rav4 and cites the same problem. Maybe Outback better?...read morehide

This is the best small SUV for the price. I will admit the Tiguan is better, but it also costs a lot more. This thing is incredibly smooth, but does lack some power. However, the power is definitely sufficient, and this is coming from someone who traded in a 2004 accord v-6 coupe to get this. Compared to the accord, the ride is so much smoother and it still handles great. Comparably priced SUVs can't compare to this one and anything cheaper is, well, cheap. You get what you pay for, as they say.
The last thing I want to address is the build quality. As I said, the Tiguan is a little better, but by the time you go for all the options, you are paying thousands more. It's an intermediary between standard and luxury small SUVs. The build quality on this car beats anything in it's class and rivals the quality of my accord which I considered to be a near-luxury vehicle. The only build-quality problem I have are the seats, but then again, the accord seats were perfect, and I mean that literally. However, while these are less comfortable, I haven't had a problem with them yet....read morehide

I bought my 2008 CR-V about 6 months ago and I have been very pleased. I am 6'4", and I have plenty of room for my legs.
I got the EX model with a luggage rack, sun roof visor and hitch for $24,500. I also own a 2007 Odessy, and I have could not have been happier.
I also test sat the Toyota Rav 4, but it is much smaller.
The only time I notice the small engine is when I floor it. Pick is ok, but not great, but then that is part of the reason for the low price.
I have driven a lot of miles in 6 months and the overall fuel average is around 22 mpg. The best highway mileage I got was 27 mpg.
If you are looking for a great value and comfortable ride, don't hesitate to buy this vehicle....read morehide

We downsized from a Dodge Grand Caravan SE, which has far superior seating and comfort...especially on 12 - 14 hour day driving stints...Am kinda disappointed in the performance. It is pretty quiet, sure footed, but where it really shines is in the snow and ice driving. It goes like a bandit !!! I drove it fairly agressively in snow, and couldn't get any bad behavior out of it. The full time AWD works !!...read morehide

First, I've had Hondas since 1984. I traded in my 1999 CRV for a new one last year and I miss my '99. I also agree with a previous review, the materials and workmanship are not as top quality as the older models. I've had it in the shop several times for a rattle in the driver side door (they finally replaced the inside panel), now there seems to be a rattle in the driver window, and two tires were worn after only 12,000 miles (I rotated at 6,000 miles). I have to say, I was somewhat disappointed in the new CRV since I never had my '99 in the shop except for routine maintenance....read morehide

It's absolutely my favorite car ever! I have two kids, and they love it too! Plenty of room, looks great, and I can see everything from my seat! I traded my '07 Civic ex for it. Needed a slightly bigger vehicle, and I have always owned a Honda. This is all the car I will ever need, wouldn't go bigger. I love my CRV!...read morehide
