The auto lock is great if you have kids, howerver if there are all adults it a real pain to remember to unlock before anyone can get out. There should be a child lock and unlock feature that the driver can control. The arm rests are to short and narrow to be practical. The road noise gets loud at 45 and above. Overall I love the car and I get between 19 and 20 around town and 22 to 24 on the highway....read morehide

Feels like I am driving a boat, seats are hard, arm rest is short and narrow making it unusable, bad design inside, does not work well with 3 kids in car seats, back hatch/gate broke after the van was 1 month old and was in the shop for a week. Monitor/tv is very small with sub par picture quality.
VERY loud inside when driving 60+.
I have been driving for 23 years and I have owned many vehicles. The Odyssey has to be the worst of any I have ever owned....read morehide

I love the car, I didn't like the fact that the dealer t old us to inflate our own tires so the tire sensor turn off. The only problem with this car is that is consumes gas fast. Other than that it's all good. It is also very spacious and provides good view of all directions

Simple: It's the best van on the market today. Everyone tries to copy it. The new VW looks almost exactly the same on the interior (Except that the VW is much much smaller)...the Toyota rides like a truck (other than that it's a fine vehicle) and well the Chrysler Town & Country is, to put it mildly...a Chrysler! (full of gimmicks, none of them good).

The PAX Tires - they aren't the best. They are run-flat tires that cost an Arm & Leg to replace...EVERY 30,000 Miles! (no joke, every 30,000 miles...and your average tire store doesn't carry them or have the equipment to replace them..that's right, you HAVE to use a HONDA store to get the tires..which probably add's to the price.) The tires (without rebate are $310 a piece people) For a tire that only get's 30,000 miles of regular "take the kids to school" driving. We're not talking about hardcore commuting, but regular driving. That's expensive.

Let's see, The Honda Odyssey...I've got the Touring w/Pax...my brother has the Touring w/Pax...my sister has the Model just under touring with out pax...the tires are much cheaper, like $100 -$150 per tire. The Touring has camera's to see what's behind you, heated seats, heated rearview mirrors, power everything, navigation, 6disc cd, dvd player, wireless headsets, leather (everything), Voice Command (example: Temperature 75...and the car does it)..and rides like a top of the line vehicle.

It's the best of the best. And while the new "boxy as all get out" Town & Country puts out a nice looking vehicle, it doesn't hold it's Value like a Honda...but yet costs about the same...and doesn't last as long as a Honda....check out a 5yr old Honda Odyssey, you'll see you can only find em with 60,000+ miles on em, and averaging mid $20k..a use Chrysler you can pick up for under $10k..that's Honda Quality & Reliability.

The Odyssey Touring w/ Pax is probably the best vehicle ever made, period. It's got power, style, and rides better than the most expensive Mercedes / BMW out there. But be prepared for expensive Tire Replacements....read morehide

We bought our 2009 Odyssey new and it only had 45 miles on it. I noticed when I drove it at 80 MPH on the freeway the steering wheel would vibrate when I would apply the breaks. I took it into the dealer and they had bad news for me.....I needed my front rotors turned. This was at 800 miles !! This is horrible coming from Honda and my dealer had no real explination as to why on a new car I would need my rotors turned. Honda did cover this so it did not cost me any money but I would not buy this car again and will not buy another Honda....read morehide

Okay with the second kid we thought it was time for a larger and easier car to get the kids in and out of...and Odyssey wins hands down over the Highlander 05 that it replaces. The auto doors are cool, but you must unlock the doors to open the doors and I just expect that when the driver door is unlocked the back door should be also. I am getting frustrated that my conditioning to hit the unlock button has not come faster.... this old dog is a slow learner. For road trips and the family this minivan is excellent other than the drivers seat is not extremely comfortable for this 5'7" 170 guy. I do wish I bought the Touring because of a couple of gadgets like the lift gate, the larger navigation and rear camera projection. I wish the steering wheel had a display button. Defrost does not work well on this vehicle making for tough visibility in my mountain town (watch out Boone). I have a lot of scratches on the paint already which is disconcerting considering I have had this vehicle for only 5 months. Getting into the third seat with kids seats in second row is very hard and wish that the second row seats could be stow away for lumber hauling or having gate window opened. The stow away compartment is almost impossible to open if you are not in the perfect position. I think the latch door should be smaller and just make the compartment large. DVD player location obstructs view completely and wish I went after market with headrest screens. Carpet and leather are already discolored and should have held up better. How about a trash can, Kleenex compartment, adjustable rear arm rests, curtains for third row and have the third row go flat to make a bed/changing station? Hey don't get me wrong I will buy another and recommend this vehicle highly. Just hoping Honda is reading these for my future purchase....read morehide

This car is amazing! We bought a Silver 2009 Honda Odyssey back in May, and we have already put over 1500 miles on it. We haven't really gone anywhere this summer, but we will. We are going to Morgantown, WV Sunday which is about an hour ride. And next Saturday, we are going to Buffalo, NY. We were comparing the Pilot EX and The Odyssey EX, but ended up upgrading to the EX-L. The Pilot was nice, but we thought the Odyssey was the better fit....read morehide

We bought the car last week after driving both the Odyssey and the Siena. Both are fine vehicles but for me the Odyssey is a bit more taut and solid in its handling and I prefer the more flat interior finishes on the Honda compared to the gloss finishes in the Sienna. This car is loaded with features I had not even expected, and I'm a car guy. You can voice control the entertainment, the climate control and the bluetooth phone systems. It seems I've almost talked more to our new car lately than I have my wife. It's a very nice feature in that you don't have to take your eyes from the road or your hands from the wheel to adjust things but you must learn the language, which we are working on. We keep cars for a long time so we'll be fluent soon. It also has an active noise cancellation system which uses the radio speakers to produce "white noise" that quiets the cabin. It works! I didn't know it had this until I'd already bought the car. The car drives very smoothly and I have noticed no jerkiness or hesitation in the transmission mentioned elsewhere. Also the engine ECO feature, where cylinders are progressively shut down at cruise speed/steady throttle settings to conserve fuel, is completely unobtrusive and operates seamlessly. The only way you know it is working is by the light coming on. Finally, the Touring now comes with regular, not the previously mandatory "run flat", tires that so many have been complaining about. The "run flats" were expensive, short lived, required special servicing, came on special sized rims, which could not be retro-fitted with regular tires and thus held no attraction for me. When I heard they now offered regular tires on very attractive 17" rims I became interested in the Touring edition. The "run flats" are still available as an option but I'll bet that they won't sell many.
We bought the car for the purpose of catering to elderly parents and grandchildren. We both like the elevated seating position and the comfortable ride and the Odyssey is a very enjoyable way to travel for both driver and passenger. We're looking forward to our first long trip.
Things they could add to the Touring that we'd like to see (these are pretty picky and in the descending order of importance) - 8 way passenger seat, heated rear seats, electric retract rear seats (like Toyota), front seat center console storage option (vice just folding down), incorporate control for all trip computer functions/options into the steering wheel "Info" switch (now some displays are accessed by the "Info" switch and some are accessed by the Odometer button at the bottom right of the speedometer requiring you to reach through or around the steering wheel to make a change).
We're very pleased with our new car and based on previous experience with 7 Honda cars and motorcyces expect above average reliability from the Odyssey....read morehide

This is the third Odyssey I have purchased since 2002. I would recommend this vehicle for the interior space/layout, comfort (the seats are probably the widest in the industry) and reliability factors. However, Honda needs to listen to their consumer
feedback and lower the noise intrusion at highway speeds. It can be a slight distraction....read morehide

We have had the 3 US made minivans in the past. 2 were good and met somewhat our expectations. 1 was a disaster. Multiple transmission troubles and AC issues. After looking for about 3 months we settled on the Odyssey. It has not disappointed us in any way. Unbelievable drive, very roomy, unlimited storage options, style, fuel economy.
