Trade in chevy crew cab truck for a 2009 honda odyssey, worth the price I paid, children love the DVD, also love the fact that I can listen to the radio while the children watch and listen to their movies at the same time. The camera is great when you want to reverse.

We think the Honda Odyssey is a great buy and will certainly buy another one. One problem though is that the car makes a squeeching sound when turning slowly and when breaking slowly. At least 5 trips to Honda mechanics and the problem is not resolved. Help!

Honda did numerous refinements from 2007 to 2008 and if the previous reviewer put 46000 miles on a car in one year than that could explain any problems he may be having. I can see (barely) what the other reviewer was writing about. There is a very very slight "hick-up" when the van shifts from 3 or 4 to 6 cylinders, but it is hardly enough to call a "Major Engineering Problem". In fact if it bothers you that much, maybe you should get rid of it and ride a bike. Additionally if that is the only "problem" you have with the van, then maybe you should have rated it a little higher. This is much more minor of a problem than in any other Van we drove.
Now that I have gone off on a tangent over the previous reviewer, I will write my review. The car is very solid and Honda has done a great job thinking through the driver and passenger comfort. We especially love the small seat/table in the middle row and the ECO function on the engine that gives us much better gas mileage since we drive extensively on highways and freeways. This feature shuts down 2-3 cylinders depending on what is needed, thereby saving gas on steady freeway driving. It is the same technology Honda also uses in our Civic Hybrid. The drivers seat in the EX-L and Touring is infinitely adjustable and is quickly changed for different drivers. The 2nd and 3rd rows are extremely versatile and my 6'4" son can ride in any seat in comfort. It is a great car for families, large and small and is much easier than an SUV to get around town!!...read morehide

I leased my 2007 Honda Odyssey and it still looks new and drives like a car but feels safe, high up off the road. Very reliable, great on gas. This is the most comfortable vehicle I have owned. My two German Shepherd dogs fit in the back when we drive to the park and they have windows all around to look out. My granddaughter sits in the back and watches the DVD player with her friend on a day trip. I would like to see the price come down so I can afford another one when I have to turn this one in....read morehide

I haven't notice any of the jerking and the abnormal shifting, like some of the others have said, but what I have noticed is the tremendous bells and whistles this car comes with. This is a van which drives like sedan, and the stability is simply amazing.
I can go on and on with it, but I won't. What I will say is though: If you're into buying a car for the family, look no farther. You can even drive this car to your high school reunion, the opera house, or to your favorite club. It is that Elegant,...read morehide

I bought this car two years ago for family use. infact, that was my plan, but I after using this car for about a month, I parked my new Toyota Forerunner in the carage. Up till now, my toyota forerunner has about 7,000 miles on it since 2006 I bought this car, because odyssey has proved to me that minivans are good cars than sedan abd suv,s. my wife always asks me why I drive a women's car like that. the answer is that it is difficult for me to drive toyota forerunner now because odyssey is good in all areas such as comfort, spacios room, it takes less energy to drive it especially when I am done with my 12 hr shift and am coming home, I am not scared for any speed I am running this car due to it stability, and its big seats. I have never had any problem since I bought this car two years ago. the milleage is 21,000. I am a young guy, but I love driving this van to the point that I hate to see my wife driving the van because of jealousy. I am thinking and of using this van untill the engine drops down the roads and the van cannot go anymore. I don't want to say a lot about this van because I am not paid to advertise for this car. I recommend this car for any body who drives far and needs to conserve energy for work or ather activity....read morehide

I bought this new in Jan 2006 This vehicle with ECO, where the engine shifts from 6 to 3 Cylinders, JERKS, KICKS and BUCKs when in Cruise control on the highway from about 45MPH to 70MPH. It does it about 25% of the time and is EXTREMELY annoying. Honda says they can't fix it as it is in SPEC. Honda Customer Service admitted they have a poroblem. Dealer owner said he has noticed it on cars and vans also. Vehicle has been doing this from about 34000 on. Now at 46000 and no relief. Out of Warranty. Stay Away as any vehicle with a 6 cylinder engine could develop this and Honda CAN NOT FIX IT. This is my 4th Honda and 1st one with a 6. If you buy Honda buy the 4 cylinder untill they are able to hire engineers who can FIX the Problem. So Odyssey is a NO No. Anything with the 6 can have the problem. You will be disapointed if you buy one nad it does it to you after a certain period of time. Yes I could sell it and take a big loss and not get my moneys worth so I will drive it and suffer....read morehide

great van for lots of kids and mom too... love everything about it
its our third odyssey!!! navi system is great, xm radio, tv is great
finally learned to do black interior after 3 vans!!!!
only two things i don't like... the door locks and the cabin noise over 45/mph.. the door locks are a pain... the older kids and the adults hate it... they lock auto when you start driving.. no one can open anything till the car is in park and the driver unlocks the doors.. no one else can unlock ???? sometimes the driver gets out of the car quickly and leaves eveyone locked in the car.. a very stupid feature...read morehide

Love the van overall. You can't find anything better for a family. It's my second Oddysey, but after only 9k miles, there are lots of rattles and way too much wind noise. My wife's KIA, with 50k is quieter. Love the powertrain and way it drives, though. If the Sienna wasn't such a bland looking van, I'd consier that, too. I agree with the other person regarding the nav - buy it aftermarket. It's not worth the $2k with the outdated maps. Only had minor issues - sliding door stuck once and for some reason the radio was not as loud on the XM bands as it was on the others....read morehide

Quality, quality, quality. You can feel the quality and excellent workmanship while driving the vehicle. Despite other comments, I think the acceleration works fine. Drives like a sedan.
Been a faithful owner of chrysler made vehicles but sad to say, this tops them all! Wife and kids love the vehicle. Personal favorites of the vehicle are rearview camera, automatic doors & trunk and ofcourse leather interior. I also like the Vehicle Stability Assistant (stabilizes van when making turns), plenty of cargo space, fits 8 people, sun-roof. Another plus is that it can fit adults nicely in 2nd and 3rd row with sufficient leg room. Third row also reclines!...read morehide
