I have the 03 and i must say it is truly amazing. First safety, I have seen plenty of s2000's flipped over and I have never seen the windshield bend more than a few inches, Breaks are good, car stops on a dime. I love having 9000 rpms to play with and you can feel power band kick in. only probs i have is tires are expensive which you can already expect, cost me a grand every year, and the battery is small, it left me stranded a few times so if you buy one change it.
if you cant afford a new one get an older model, I have seen them for half the price and there is not any difference in body style except for rims and bumper, so your not going to out-shined by newer s2000's , i love my 03 and never thought about getting a new one....read morehide

I have had the car for 2 years, it is a 2007 model. The handling is unbelievable!!! I added a K&N air intake for an extra touch of power and sound, and a 10"subwoofer into the floor of the trunk, aside from that, the car is engineered & manufactured perfectly! I drive my S2K hard, and the car loves it, it has never let me down, and it consistently beats most 6 & 8 cyl cars, supercharged and turbocharged 4cyls, and other 'ricers', and if somebody happens to out accelerate it, just wait for the twisties, it WILL smoke you in the corners!! Worth every penny!!...read morehide

I've had my 2009 S2000 for two weeks now and I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's great to drive and the ease of going from top up to top down makes driving in sunny Southern California a breeze. Can't wait to take it for a "cruize".
It turns heads everywhere I go. I look forward to turning heads for years to come!!!...read morehide

No doubt that this is a great car. Not many people own this car, so people will be looking and trying to figure out what car this is. It's uncommon, unlike the mustangs, so that's what I like about this car. It is also great looking and drives well. The only bad thing is that it doesn't accelerate quickly in the low range rpm, but once it gets past 5,000 rpm, you're pushed back into your seat. I own a 2004 but not a 09 so I'm not sure if the new ones are better, probably are. I hope to trade in my 04 for a 09 though. Rear wheel drive is fun to drift but hard to learn....read morehide

I have an '06 S2K. This is an awesome car for performance, handling, value and reliability.
I came off a BMW motorcycle to drive this car, and I easily prefer the car over my motorcycle anyday. There are plenty of comparisons of this car to being a 4-wheeled motorcycle for handling and acceleration.
Being a Honda, and I've owned two other Honda's, meant to me that it wouldn't be spending a lot of time in the garage. All my Honda's have been super reliable. The car turns a lot of heads since most people don't even know or recognize that Honda makes a two seater convertible.
The S2000 holds it's retail value. It costs more than the miata, but is more of a sportscar than the miata. And the miata's are a dime a dozen. The other competitor is usually the BMW Z3/Z4, which tends to cost a little more. What killed them for me was my owning a 325es and a 328is previously, and the maintenance costs were astronomical, unless you like paying $500 for a brake job at the dealer or a $1000 for a drive shaft because they can't just sell the stabilizer bearing.
The car is sporty and the cockpit is minimal, harkening back to Honda's racing origins. Push start ignition, digital dash, and the stereo is hidden behind a flip down door. Power windows, not locks. Power top that is up or down in about 6 seconds. Seats are firm and supportive. But if you're wearing size 40 or larger waistbands, you might find it a little confining. Don't look for GPS or DVD or even a decent sized cup holder, that wasn't the intent of this car.
The handling is crisp and responsive, as is the engine. A consequence of this and the 18" tires is a firm ride, that people coming out of sedans or luxury SUVs might find too harsh. But it is what is because it needs to be to give you the performance...assuming this is why you buy the car. If you're looking for sedate, touring around with the top down performance, get the miata.
I guess the last thing to mention that (again) in keeping with intent of this car to be a performance oriented car, suitable for track days and such, there is NO automatic transmission available. But isn't a standard half the fun?...read morehide

My S2K is an 03', I can't say enough about the acceleration it is the most fun I have had driving a car in my life. Going throught he corners it stay low to the ground and hugs them corners. If you get one I guarantee you will love it forever and not get rid of it. I added a cold air intake and a test pipe. Little bit more horsepower and the sound is like a race car for the road. Have fun I am....read morehide

I looked at several convertibles before I test drove the s2000. It is a trill to drive, in fact it is my day to day car and I put over 35,000 miles last year. It looks better than the Mazda, Crossfire, or the Z ( in my opinion) plus not many women drive the s2000, whereas you will spot many chicks in those cars.
The Six Speed Manual is great, the first four gears make the car fun, and the last two give great gas mileage on the freeway. You feel a part of the road with s2000, plus you can wave to all your fellow s2000 owners as you pass by.
I will let any prospective owner to realize that she can be high maintenance, literally. Expect to change the rear tires often (15-20k miles) and more common oil changes. But it is worth it to spoil the one you love!...read morehide

I have a 2001 and it has 3 more hp. with a 2.0 engine. Won't go in snow, but handling and brakes are amazing.

The seats fit like a glove. The engine purrs and the power and handling is awesome. With the top down you can still keep up a normal conversation level and the heater can allow top down driving even on a 50 degree day. We bought this 2007 model as our baby and keep it garaged except for weekends and fun. We expect to drive it until it is a classic.
Don't take it out for a beating on the interstate - 4 hours of boring and vibrating from hard rutted roads is exhausting. Coastal highway and backroad curves is the way it was meant to be enjoyed. Lucky for us, we live on the rural coastline.
I wouldn't want it as my daily driver because it might diminish the thrill I get whenever I get in to drive or ride in it. We are a couple of 50 year olds with an S2000 as our new "baby"....read morehide

after the kids left it was time to get something sporty, but i didn't expect a combination of performance, looks, quality of construction, and most importantly, reliability and durability. something the japanese seem to excel at. wake up detroit! This car makes me feel twenty years younger every time I get in it. In the last eighteen years I have driven nothing but toyotas and hondas and have not had one mechanical problem. I will continue to buy them until detroit can CONSISTENTLY build cars with these same qualities....read morehide
