Test drove the H3x and the inlne 5 did not cut it. It couldn't get out of its own way. Gave the Alpha a test drive and game over. On top of all that, got 33% off so yeah 15grand off the top will more than cover the gas for the next few years. Kinda sad they will be discontinued was looking forward to the H4 to come out but oh well.
Every now and then the stabili trac and 4wd keeps going out on nme but after I turn off and turn back on the truck all is fine kind of wierd....read morehide

Bought my H3 in 07 brand-new, & I LOVE IT. I'm really sad GM is doing away with the brand & it really does upset me that H3s get a bad rep as "guzzlers;" I've driven sports cars & SUVs since day 1 & the H3s MPG is on-par if not BETTER than all the others. Onto the review:
**EXTERIOR** Love the looks. Styling is unmistakable, very unique. I went w/the Luxury Pkg, Chrome Mirrors, Fuel Door, Side Tubing & Luggage Rack (black/chrome). The car is VERY tall so make sure you get side tubing, it makes life much easier. The H3 is very suitable for urban living too, with it's (relatively) smaller size compared to it's larger siblings, even parallel parking is easy.
**INTERIOR** Lux Pkg provides HUGE sunroof, Leather Pkg, Heated Seats, Great Sound System, and more toys. Leather is really soft & comfy. Looks are great (I bought black/silver color combo). Almost all controls are easy access & highly visible. Honestly, the interior is where the H3 has its only flaws imo. Rear visibility is not very good, I'm going to need to buy a backup camera. No visor lights were avail. on the 07 models. Also, given that it's a Lux Pkg, I'd expect steering wheel-mounted radio controls, but they weren't even an option. There is no trip computer available on the H3 (ie-calculates your average/actual mpg, miles to empty etc), which is a "toy," but something I've become VERY used to having. What irks me most though, are the Heated seat controls are also a pain to access as they're located on the side of the seat & you can't see what you're doing... why they didn't put the controls near the radio, etc is mind-boggling. Shy of those few issues, I LOVE my car.
**PERFORMANCE** I already spoke about the impressive gas mileage. The car is rugged & drives like it's supposed to. It's neither a race car, nor a smooth driving luxury sedan... don't expect it to be. This is a rugged, off-road vehicle. It's very capable of handling it's off-road duties. Realistically, most people will use this for the everyday commute. I live in Chicago & our winters are MISERABLE; tons of snow & ice, snow plows entrench your car with a barricade of snow. Not a problem for the H3, it can handle ANYTHING, making short work of even the worst winter conditions. Something that does surprise me is that the H3 doesn't have heated SIDE mirrors; they really do make life easier in icy conditions. Summertime driving is a blast too, with the HUGE sunroof & more than ample windows.
** SERVICE / DEALERSHIP** ...with a smile. This is where H3 impressed me the most. The service dept is above & beyond any I've EVER experienced. They'll gladly provide loaners without question, take care of ANY issues you have IMMEDIATELY. The purchase experience was very pleasant too; no pressure, flexible & extremely friendly.
**SUMMARY** I LOVE MY H3! Buy one while you can! I hope the company that does wind up buying the HUMMER brand keeps the quality that GM had....read morehide

Since I bought my H3 in 2008 I had problems regarding Performance and smooth driving, in Performance I always feel that the car is heavy and it doesn't respond quickly to my acceleration. and I always have problems regarding the tires they're not smooth and it feels it needs continuous balancing and I even toke them to the garage 3 times asking for balancing the tires and they are always saying that's normal yet I think it's not....read morehide

I absolutely love my new H3 I bought in March. I used to have a GMC Canyon truck which I really liked, but the H3 is even better. I was really suprised by how well the H3 handles. When I had my truck I sometimes had a hard time getting in or out of some parking spots, with the H3 I never have problems. The turning radiace is really good for an SUV. I was also suprised at how quiet the H3 is compared to other SUV and trucks that I have been in. I always wanted an H3, but before buying one, I test drove a Dodge Durango, and a Ford Explorer. I had been in several of the other GM SUV's (Trailblazer, Yukon, and Envoy) I like driving the H3 a lot more than the Durango or the Explorer. It is quieter and seemed to handle a lotbetter. I think that the other GM ones are really nice too, I just happen to prefer the looks of the H3 more. It is just really unique to me, but that is just personal preference. I would recommend the H3 to anyone looking for an SUV. With the rebates I was able to get plus my dad's GM employee discount the H3 was also surprisingly affordable. I was also able to good lease deal through a bank my dealership works with. My payments are under $400 a month to give anyone thinking of buying an idea. I know that in some area's there aren't alot of Hummer dealerships, I had to drive about an hour to get mine. If you live in Michigan, I would recommend Al Serra, they were wonderful and got everything set-up including the financing over the phone. All I had to do was come in and sign the paperwork. I would definately say that I have had a 100% positive experience from the day I picked out my H3 until today. This is the best vehicle I have ever driven or been a passenger in. The only thing that I would say is don't by the H3 if you don't want to be noticed by other drivers and in parking lots. This is an attention getting vehicle. I will also say that some people can be negative because the H3 is "a gas guzzler". Well to that I say that it gets the same gas mileage as pretty much every other SUV in its class. Also I live close to my job so I only fill up my tank once every couple of weeks. Besides I live in a cold weather state, and I live in a neighborhood that doesn't always get plowed right away when it snows....read morehide

I LOVE my H3. I have always had trucks and this is at the top of my list for favorites. It has a rough and tough feel. I enjoy being able to "feel" my vehicles when I drive them. This is a great SUV...highly recommend good and solid

I had a modified Jeep Wrangler and decided to buy another SUV. My requirements were that it had to have extreme off-road capability and that it had to provide optimal side impact protection in the event of a collision given that I now have young children. Given that money was no barrier, I reviewed and drove many SUVS including Land Rovers, Toyota FJ, and Mercedes. To my surprise, it was my 7 year old son who chose the Hummer H3 "Red Bull" with the Adventure package with the manual transmission. I have been very pleased and am glad that I bought American! As every bit as capable off-road as my previous Jeep Wrangler... but not as nimble in tight turns and corners. This H3 is awesome and my son was absolutely correct in his decision....read morehide

So glad I decided to buy a new one.
2009 Hummer H3 3.7L I5
I test drove a used 06' model and absolutley fell in love with it.
I'm coming out of a 2001 F350 4x4 Extended Cab, Long Bed and the H3 handels like a car/truck.
I love how high I am up off the road inside, and mine came from factory with the 32" tires, so when they wear out I will go into the 33" just for that 1" extra height.
It is so quiet inside and what a view! I'm only 5'5" tall and have no problem seeing all around, plenty of headroom inside, my husband is 6'4" tall and he is very comfortable as a passenger or driver and as well in the back seat!
Driving/riding inside this car/SUV is more like a ride as Disney than driving a car!!!
Such a smooth ride and the engine is SO QUIET you don't even know it is running!!!
The A/C is killer esp. down here in SE FL!!! WOW!!! Icy cold and the A/C vents are the perfect size! A lot of the new cars have tiny A/C vents.
I have been car shopping casually for about 8 months now, seriously for 2 months. I test drove the Jeep Liberty, The Saturn Vue, The Dodge Nitro and looked at so many others.
This is one very happy Hummer owner.
Also a dealer note: We went to Hummer of the Palm Beaches, what a wonderful experience. Not like car shopping at all! They were very business like everyone was there to help me not SELL me the car. I knew what I wanted and they assisted me in getting it. No pressure, no gimmicks, no slimey sales guys. We'll def. be going back when the time comes for the need of a new car.
Enjoy shopping everyone!!!!...read morehide

I really enjoy my H3X, compared to the many other SUV's on the market. A very solid vehicle that stands out on the road. The H3 can be customized with many extra's, big 22-23 inch rims, nice rugged tires or the low profile tires. Not to mention the many chrome accessories available. Sure there are other SUV's that probably ride better, but they don't stand out like the BIG H3 with all the BLING-BLING. None of the other SUV's on the market can be customized like it yet perform off-road in rugged terrain. If you don't enjoy the H3 maybe you shouldn't be driving an SUV. Go buy a frumpy old lady van or station wagon and enjoy your smooth ride....read morehide

My H3 performs incredibly well! I enjoy the outstanding acceleration, handling, and front visibility. I often have to remind myself that its a mid-size suv and not my formal sports coupe. It was a good investment for my family and we enjoy the combination of its versatility and luxury.
