Purchased As New
I'm not sure how they achieved the fuel mileage they advertise, but i'm only getting about 75 - 80% of that, which is only slightly better than what I got out of the '94 V6 Plymouth Voyager 3L I was driving before (not to mention a bigger tank). Don't expect to get pulled over for street racing in this car, it's got little in the ways of horsepower.
On the plus side, you get outstanding value for your money. Equipped with a sunroof, heated seats, a comfortable and classy interior and an exterior that shows no shame, not to mention many other accessories that add up to give you a great package deal. Of course, the newest vehicle I've ever owned is that '94, so maybe I'm not the best reviewer ;) Too soon to judge reliability in the long run....read morehide

I recently purchased my Hyundai Accent and I love it! I drive back and forth about 30 miles everday to attend school and the fuel economy is great. On average I fill up 1 1/2 times per week. Gas is $1.61 here and it takes $15 to tank up. It has a good, comfortable ride and space is not a problem. When you get to about 60mph, the engine makes a buzzing noise but it's not annoying. This is a perfect car for college students or beginner driver's....read morehide

I bought this car (2008) to improve my gas mileage. I get 19 mpg biggigest mistake I ever made buging this car. Gas mileage advertised, is just not there.
I traded in a 2003 mercury sable that got 17 mpg. My net gain 2 mpg.
I'm sick about this car, guess i;ll just have to live with it for a few years til I can trade the thing off....read morehide

This car has the total package for a price that makes the japanese and others just standing around with their mouth open. the fit and finish, quality and relabilty of this car is just amazing. pack that with the warentee and this is a no brainer. This car is a big step above just basic a to b transportation. Tack on the fact that this little accent gs is fun to drive, it handles and buzzes around like a go kart. The car has a great feel of quality compared to the yaris...read morehide

I have a 2006 accent and it's perhaps the best car I have yet to own. My previous car was a Corolla which I liked very much for the value and fuel economy. Since I've had this car I am very glad I made the change. This car drives, handles, and is a better "bang for your buck". I consistantly get 30+ MPG and have hit 40 a few times. I did have an electrical problem with the brake switch but other than that it's just the usual oil change and what not. The interior is fairly roomy for a small car. Also, I finally have an arm rest, thank you Hyundai, which was the final selling point....read morehide

I'VE BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR FOR 20 YEARS. I PUT 30,000 MILES A YEAR ON IT. AND I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING AND NEVER WORRY THAT MY CAR WONT START, OR I MIGHT BREAK DOWN ON MY WAY TO WORK. WHEN MY DAUGHTER GOT HER LICENCE I GAVE HER MY OLD ACCENT IT HAD 190,000 MILES ON IT SHE DROVE IT FOR 2 YEARS AND THEN I BOUGHT A NEW ONE FOR HER. MY SON DROVE HER OLD ACCENT FOR ANOTHER 2 YEARS, AND THEN I BOUGHT HIM A NEW ONE. AND DONATED THE OLD ONE TO CHARITY.LAST YEAR I BOUGHT MY WIFE THE SANTA FE....read morehide

I just purchased the 2009 3 door Accent. The visibility is great and the ride is superb. For the price the Accent is an outstanding car. The Mellow Yellow a is a looker too!

I have a Sonata, Santa Fe and now the Accent. Sporty feel, solid ride for a compact and the details in the styling of the 3-door SE are subtle and captivating. Have put 700 miles on and 25mph in town, pushing it through the gears (5speed manual) and 32mpg hway pushing 80mph in Florida with the air on. Seems to stay above 30mpg even pushing it a little over 85mph. Ride seems to smooth out at the higher speeds and the engine noise better at 3800 rpm than at 3200. Hyundai seems to take care of the little things in their products and I always note a feature that was not obvious.jy...read morehide

I have the 2008 which is like the 2009 model. Great highway gas mileage. Mine averages 38-39 on the highway whether we go 60 or 70. Tested it going from Dallas to Kansas twice. In town mileage around 33-34. I love my Accent and find the ride exceptional. There is plenty of leg room in the back seat. My horses are fascinated by the green color (I bought the green one) and unfortunately one of my colts touched the hood with his foot denting it....read morehide

I am hoping to see about 40mpg after break-in. I usually run with just myself and drive 60-65 mph on my 70 mile (one way) work trip and am getting around that 37mpg so far. If you drive 65-70mph I see the mpg drop to about 34mpg. I have put about 1000 miles on it so far. I was surprised no cruise because it had XM radio, but I can live without that considering the price of the car. The looks are very good, ride is very nice too. It has pretty good zip if it is just me, but with a passenger and AC turned on it gets a little sluggish (but remember this is not a sports car so that is ok to live with). I think if you factor in the price of the car and the great warranty that is included, it is a very good deal. Trunk has lots of space for me to haul groceries home too, quite inpressed with it. Back seat might be a little cramped for the passangers, but we have no problem with space up front. Sound system is not too bad sounding for me (45 year old) but AM radio could have a little better fidelity. The car does have lumbar seat adjustment, which makes it a nice ride on my 70 minute trek to work. I have to say I am happy with my purchase....read morehide
