This car has great gas mileage, a lot of room in car, and i have not had any mechanical problems with is car what so ever.

I'm a 40-something guy who went with mom and sister to look at economical/affordable vehicles. First I conducted extensive research online for makes/models/options/looks/prices etc... I found myself going back to the Hyundai Elantra Touring for different reasons, mainly price and options. Once we got to the dealership, both mom and my sister decided they liked the Elantra Sedan better. They happened to look at the upper-end SE models, mom's was metallic plum and my sister liked the metallic "sparkly" black.

Well, I was wary because the last Hyundai I rode in was about 8 years ago and I wasn't very impressed. Times have changed. Both of these vehicles had options like leather heated seats, sunroofs, 6-speaker stereos systems w/aux input, xmradio, steering wheel audio/cruise controls, bluetooth, and interiors that were absolutely stunning for the pricetag. Everything seemed to have a solid feel to it and the workmanship seemed top notch, and well conceived. The test drive revealed a good solid engine that shifts very smoothly that isn't going to push you back into the seat anytime soon, but hey... that's not what this car is about. The 16 inch alloy wheels are a huge improvement over the lower trim's steel wheels w/wheel covers. The 2.0L engine is a 16 valve design so you know it's smooth.

Overall, I felt no apprehension whatsover giving my opinion to my family to buy this vehicle. Everything about this vehicle portrays it as a vehicle that has had a lot of time and thought put into it to make it as appealing and solid as possible for the $20k pricetag. My mom and sister both absolutely can't wait for their workday to come to an end each day so they can get in their cars and drive home... very pleased....read morehide

Can't think of one except my dealership is 30 miles away but they are even awsesome.

This is my second Elantra. Got a great deal on a trade the first of the year and will definitely buy another one when this one is done. The 2008 is a well thought out and comfortable vehicle with a frew options only more expensive cars have.

10 year warranty HELLO!!!! I average 31 mpg and has never broken down and mantanence is also very cheap which is difficult to find on a foreign vehicle!

I own 07' Elantra which it is quite impressive.
I doubt when I purchased 2 years ago about performence
but I have this vehicle since 07' with 55000 miles now....
Running pretty good so far....
Best value in this class, you will not regrete.

I drove this as a rental, and it was the best rental I've ever had. The handling was great, it was comfortable and surprisingly luxurious for a small car. Purchased brand new 2008 Elantra 06/08.Noticed water leaks in interior and in trucnk area. Trunk and back floor actually gets a puddle when it rains. Been in for service 5 tiomes and is still not repaired. Hyundai America says too bad, case closed. So now I am stuck with a stinky, smelly wet brand new car.
Hyundai may be a good car if you do not have any problems, but look at if you do. You are on your own.
You can go through lemon laws in your state and I have checked into this but you still loose alot of money.
Never again for a Hyundai, there customer service and treatment right from the coporate level really is poor.
All you Elantra owners check your trunks the next time you drive in the rain, if no one rides in the back seat this may go unnoticed. The only way I noticed was by placing something on the back floor, picked it up and it was soaking wet....read morehide

Bought the new 09....drove from my home town (Clovis,NM) to Ft.Hood, TX and barely used half a tank of gas. Everything about this car is great. Only bad this about this car is that the speakers could be better.

Purchased this car in March '09 but is a new '08 vehicle. Love the roomy interior for a midsize sedan. Worry constanly about the cloth seats they can stain easy. Ride is excellent for its size compares well to larger luxuxry cars. Engine is sluggish up hills and loud I have to constantly shift gears in AT to get the power I need. Seatbelt alarm is annoying. Tires are below average in bad weather and reaplced them (Hankook's) 1 week after puchase (with Goodyear's). But u would think with the negatives I wouldn't like the car. But it is a well done vehicle that needs some improvements but is solid so far....read morehide
