I find that some of the negative "user reviews" on this site as laughable and highly suspicious, especially considering the vague complaints and incorrect information listed.

I've had my Veracruz for about 1.5 years and there has never been a problem. The VC AWD has been a blessing during the Michigan winter and it performs like a champ, especially on unplowed roads where snow and ice keep most cars at bay. The brakes are excellent even on soft snow. I love the added security of the Traction Control and ESC when I'm driving on slippery roads that haven't been salted or plowed yet. My previous SUV was an Infiniti QX4 and the Veracruz was definitely an upgrade in terms of power, on road stability, and fuel economy.

One of the reviewers who wrote a negative review falsely claimed that he had 3 recalls associated with the vehicle. As a TRUE CURRENT OWNER, I have never received a recall for my vehicle. Furthermore, I investigated the matter by calling Hyundai and researched the number of recalls that have been put out on the Veracruz.

HERE ARE THE FACTS:
There has only been one recall for the Veracruz and that was for a DEALER INSTALLED Trailer Hitch (aftermarket part). The Trailer Hitch was manufactured from a third party and NOT from Hyundai. Not every Veracruz owner received the recall because only the ones who bought the accessory item received it.

I highly suspect most of the negative reviews were written by GM/Ford/Chrysler employees since the Big 3 are in danger of bankruptcy. I understand the dire situation for the employees of those companies, but you have to be ethical and just even in hard times like this. This site is a helpful tool for potential car buyers and many rely on the honest and truthful experience of car owners. This is not the site to vent frustration and deception towards other car companies. There are other platforms where this can be done, just not here.
