Just got the test drive on the new Jeep from my uncle. Felt very comfortable, and solid. It's very good feeling to ride on, and safe. However, the MPG was terrible. I don't know how did some people get 20 MPG in the city. My own car--Mitsubishi Outlander just got 21 MPG in the city (3500 lbs weight, 4 cyc., and CVT transmission). The Jeep commander weight around 4500 lbs and it still can make 20 MPG with V6, and 4500 lb weight..!! That's maybe just a joking. If it's that good, then it should beat down Toyota already....read morehide

First Jeep and it's a blast. Works great for our family of 5. We live in the mountains with plenty of snow and off-road opportunities and it is a real confidence builder to have this vehicle available. We knew about the gas mileage and while not good it is no surprise. This Jeep has comfort, performance and looks good....read morehide

I've had my 2007 Commander Limited for a year.
It drives great. It handles great. It has a great interior. It makes good power from the 4.7 liter V8 Flex engine. Acceptable if not decent mileage and it runs on regular or E85.
It's been stone-axe reliable.
I traded in a Land Rover Discovery when I bought the Commander and the Jeep just destroys it in every single respect.
I'd buy another and highly recommend this vehicle to anyone. Given the incredible discounts Jeep is offering on this product, it is a no brainer GREAT deal. No, it's a STEAL!...read morehide

Great for getting you anywhere & goes really good in the snow! The remote start is fantastic for winter and the key operated hatch opener frees up hands when putting things in the back. (& you can also close from a distance from the key)

When it comes to overall 4x4 functionality, a JEEP ranks up there with the best of them. During the harsh Cleveland winter, I have yet to come into contact with a road condition this vehicle will not perform in. If you are going to take the plunge, I recommend you pick up these features: 4x4, Limited, HEMI engine, and the Navigation system. These items significantly dress up the vehicle, while upgrading some of the weaker features other Commander owners have expressed disatisfaction with. If you are simply looking for a tough vehicle without the bells and whistles, stick with the Wrangler. Overall, I am very happy with the vehicle and have not come across any major issues. Despite being a bit of a gas hog, I would still recommend the upgraded engine. The MPG difference may be 1-2, but the performance of the base engine models will have you wishing you splurged for the HEMI. The 4wd Low option is a nice feature and really separates the Commander from its "All-Wheel" competitors. Sure Audi makes a great looking $70k SUV, but if I can't drop it into a low gear to get out of some snow/sand/mud, why have an SUV at all??...read morehide
