"WOW" - that's the first thought that came to my mind when I saw this Jeep. At first I was skeptical because the name Jeep means so much to America and whenever I think of the word Jeep, I think off road legend. (WWII etc) But that's not the point, the point here is that Jeep really came through and made a reliable "city" Jeep for people like me. I have a family of 4 and I drive this everyday to work. It's about 80 miles there and back everyday, so I'm on the road alot!
One thing I'm still very thankful for is that I haven't put a PENNY into this yet! Thanks Jeep! As of now, May, 07th 2009, I currently have 67,000 miles on it and I'm very happy with this Jeep.
My wife is very thrilled to because even though we bought the cheapest Jeep Compass, it came stock with Stain Resistant Seats!!! She was sold on the Jeep Compass because with 2 kids, the Stain Resistants were and stilll are a Huge Plus!! Good Job again Jeep!
Here's my ratings
Appearance 4/5. (I wish yahoo had a 4.5/5.0 rating because that's what I'd give this section) But I gave this a 4/5. Just because it is a "city" Jeep and I'm still very proud to be a Jeep owner, whether it be with a Compass or a Wrangler, it's still a Jeep.
Comfort: 5/5 I give this a 5 because with those Stain Resistant seats and two little growing kids, they are a huge plus and not to mention, we still had plenty of truck space when we went on a 3-day vaction so that's comfort to me, ( not having a cooler right at your side, with the fishing poles about to catch on to something, or having the tennis rackets keep hitting you in the head when the driver keeps on stopping.) - That's a real situation that happened to me when I was in my friends Rav4.
Performance: 5/5, I clearly give this a 5 due to the amazing gas mileage I get.
On the highway I get 29MPG (and that's more than the new Honda Pilot gets, with the commercial bragging at 24MPG...I get 29 Hwy! I love this Jeep and around town, I get 26 MPG.
Also for performance we have the 172-hp engine and this still gives plenty of kick for those who like to press the pedal down to the floor once in awhile...(I know I do)
Value: 5/5, I give this clearly a 5 because we bought this from the dealer for $14,000 Brand New with the MRSP being $19,000+!! And we have yet to put a penny into it!
Reliability: 5/5, Like I said right above this, we have yet to put a penny into this and this is why I give the Jeep Compass a 5/5 for reliability!
Overall Rating: 5/5...read morehide

my first jeep and i wish i would have bought it sooner ,my wife says its fun to drive. I bought it last of febuary and its great in the snow, have taken it on three trips very comfortable and lots of leg room front and back , the only thing other than the gas tank being larger is a little more insulation to quiet road noise on the road but with the economy, performance and comfort i can live with the little noise. Its just a great car...read morehide

I have had my Compass since October 2006 and I love it! I wrecked mine in January 2008 (15,000) damage and it still runs like a Champ! I've never had to have any major service on it and I can get up to 35 mpg! I love the look and recommend this car to everyone!

I have had my Compass for over 2 years and have 60,000 miles on it. I absolutely love it! I needed a 4x4 for my long commute to work and have not been disappointed. This little car handles any kind of weather and especially fun driving on mountain roads. If I ever get another new car, I'll look at a Compass first....read morehide

My husband bought me my 2007 Jeep Compass about 14 months ago for Valentines Day. It is the perfect size for hauling the kids around, groceries, and still be able to fit things inside w/out having to drive a huge SUV or MiniVan. It gets great gas mileage and I've done nothing to it except have the oil changed every 3,000 miles. I think it's a great vehicle especially for the price! The only con is that there is a blind spot on each front side that you have to be aware of...Hope this helps someone out looking to buy....I'm thrilled w/ mine....read morehide

I've had my 2007 Compass for almost 2 years and can't say enough good things about it. Great size, handles nicely, very inexpensive to own. I highly recommend it if you are in the market.

We purchased a 2007 Compass in January of 2008, primarily because of the rebates and safety features. We also purchased the Lifetime Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty. We commute about 100 miles each day in the Western North Carolina mountains so we wanted the assurance of a 4WD vehicle. I was a bit leary of the 4 cylinder engine due to the climb up Old Fort Mountain every day. We purchased the model with the CVT transmission and it amazes me every time we drive up the mountain. We are able to have the air conditioning on and still accelerate up the steep grade with no problems. Shortly after we purchased the Compass we were headed home after a heavy rain. We were traveling on Interstate 40 and hit a rather large pool of water. Before I could react to the hydroplaning the ESP had corrected the skid. We get a very consistant 25-26 miles-per-gallon combined city/highway. We already have over 36,000 miles on it with no problems at all. We purchased it for commuting only and do not use it for off-road use. The Compass is not Trail-Rated but it does great on the blacktop and dirt/gravel roads. We love our Jeep and would definately recommend it to anyone. I am over 6' tall and 280 lbs and it is probably one of the roomiest vehicles I have ever owned. I can stretch my legs out straight in the front seat. When we first purchased the Compass I had to slide the seat forward (which is almost never heard of for me) but eventually I got used to the extra room, and now I just keep the seat back and enjoy the ride. I also like to wear western hats and there is plenty of head room for them also; although, to be fair, I usually have to remove it getting in and out of the Jeep. On the down side, the front 'A' pillar does present a little bit of a blind spot but is easily seen around with a little head movement. The engine and transmission is a little noisier than most passenger vehicles, but it is 4WD and does an amazing job for such a small engine (2.4L 4Cyl). The cargo hold could be slightly larger for the long trips with 4 on board, but as for commuting I don't think you can beat it. It is 5-Stars in my book. Also, I can't say enough about how great our dealership has been. We keep our Compass serviced on a regular basis and they always do a superb job at a very fair price....read morehide

I bought a new 2008 Jeep Compass sport in august, Have had no problems with it. It is my first new vehicle, First Chrysler product, and first SUV. I purchased the Compass because the dealer had one in stock that had all the features I wanted (or rather didnt want, I wanted a vehicle with no power windows, no power locks, and a manual trans, for I am an automotive minimalist) and I loved the styling, and cargo room....read morehide

I have had my Jeep Compass for about a year. I drive about 75 miles a day. I also take it up to the trinity river regularly. Not one complaint. I always wanted a jeep wrangler but my husband said it was not meant for freeway driving and not as safe as the compass. Something about the wheel base. I love my compass....read morehide

I bought the tire/service deal and not sure if it was worth it. Had them check the battery (part of the service that is mandated) and it cost me $60.00.
Wish that in the limited, the moldings and bumper would match the car color vs. the other way around.
