I boutgh this car new in Jan 09 and I have put 20000 miles on it. It is a comfortable ride and radio and controlls are easily accesable. Ithink it is a sharp looking minin SUV. I added the 17 inch rims and a sun roof when I ordered it. It is a great car for the price

We bought a 2009 Patriot in the Cash for Clunkers program by trading in a 2000 Blazer worth a few hundred at best since my son rolled it. This is the beat value in the market to us since we paid $9,370 for a lot of car that gives great mileage (29 MPG's in our last 1,000 mile trip in mostly flat Florida roads).
It has great comfort items for drivers and passengers in all the seats. I love the large storage space in the back and how easy it converts to full storage. In comparison to the Blazer it is much better since the spare tire is hidden, instead of taking space in the storage area....read morehide

I purchased an '08 Patriot in Oct. of '07. I was driving 45 mins one way to work, on country roads with alot of deer to dodge. I wanted something fuel efficient and safe if I got in to an accident. About 2 weeks after I bought my Patriot, I hit a deer going 62 MPH with no time to break. It was a large doe and did hardly any damage. I had 3 people stop to help me, one was an auto body repair man, and one was a sheriff and they said they had never seen a car fair so well after a crash at high speeds. My mechanic was also very impressed. If I would have had a car, I would have had the deer come through my windshield and I would have had more damage with any other vehicle. I was truly blessed to not be hurt or have my vehicle totaled. Since then my Patriot and I have put on 40,000 miles and we haven't had a thing go wrong. I average 28-32 MPG on a regular tank of gas which is mostly city but some highway driving. My brother and sister-in-law traded in their Jeep Liberty to buy a Patriot after all my good expierences and being able to drive mine around for a week. We love our Patriot and plan to keep it until it dies, which may be a very long time!...read morehide

I have driven this car over 3000 miles and for the price it's absolutly awsome. It has lots of room and a smooth ride. I have been avg about 23 mpg with my 2.4L. The transmission is very noticable shifting btw 2nd and 3rd gear and downshifting btw 3rd and 2nd. And the ipod connection doesn't sound as good as the radio. Stock wheels look a little cheezy.Other than that great car!! Just remember LIFETIME powertrain!!...read morehide

My Fiancee and I purchased a 2009 Jeep Patriot in July. We purchased the North Edition, with power options and upgraded tire group. We both love this vehicle so much, perfect for starting a family. It has great size, but not too big and clunky. The sleak design makes it easy on the eyes. Everywhere we go someone comments on the truck and how nice it is. The ride is very smooth, and don't let anyone tell you there is too much road noise; once those doors shut, you do not hear anything from outside. We went with the 4x2 because we do not tow or go offroad so we do not need it. Overall, this is the PERFECT truck to start a family with. I would buy it again, and I would recommend anyone in the same position as me to buy it!...read morehide

Purchased the first year model in September 2007. The CVT took some getting used to but didnt notice it any more after a few months. Has over 27,000 miles and no mechanical issues at all. If you are looking for a "hybrid" SUV that is roomy, gets good mileage and is reliable, the Patriot shoud be part of your evaluation. It also offers a smooth ride and is comfortable to drive....read morehide

I paid less than $9000 for this SUV! With taxes, tags, title, dealer fee, etc it came to $10,100.00 Out the Door. Sticker was about $18,000 but with a $4500 Cash for Clunkers trade in (1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer...Value about $500) and a $3500 Dealer allowance the price came down to $10,000 and I worked them down to $9000. The $4500 is government money and the $3500 is Chrysler incentive so there is still room to get them down from the sticker. I drove 200 miles to get the Sunburnt Orange color and I'm glad I did. Looks fabulous! Base 5 speed has A/C and great Stereo with CD so I was all set. A Automatic trans would probably be about $1000 to $1500 higher. I was very impressed with the fit and finish of the Jeep and although I've heard complaints about the interior being too plastic I really like it. Haven't got a gas mileage number yet as I don't think the tank was completely full when I left the dealership. Gas gauge went down to 3/4 full after only 20 city miles with the A/C on. I'll wait a while and let it break in and get a good reading. The Patriot handled like a dream at 70 and I found myself drifting up to 80 at times when I wasn't paying attention. I would really have liked to have gotten the cruise control but I don't think it was available on the 5 speed and was included in a option package on the Auto. I'm a no frills 5 speed kind of guy but the appearance of the base Jeep does not look cheap at all. I think the steel wheels look just fine and I'm going to add some new running boards (eBay $259) and some cross rails for the luggage rack (they were not included!?!), and some floor mats (Also not included!) and call it good. Had a wonderful experience with the Stuart Jeep dealership in Stuart, Florida. My sales person was Sherri Lane and she was very helpful. If you are looking to upgrade your Clunker ride for something stylish and good on fuel look no further....read morehide

I was worried about the amount I would spend on gas but so far I am completely satisfied. Cheaper to fill up than my 2 door Chevy Cobalt. Sound system is top (Boston system). Plenty of storage room, back seats easily fold down. I also have a sun roof. I wanted a Jeep but I didn't want to spend too much money. I also wanted a practical SUV and this is the perfect size. It is a tough car but easy on the eyes. This is a good automobile for someone on a budget who still wants a great SUV with many optional features....read morehide

After 20+ hours of research over what kind of car I wanted to buy, Jeep wasnt even on my list of "maybes" I was looking at everything from a Ford Fushion to a Toyota Prius. After a long day of car shopping, I decided on a whim to stop by Jeep on the way home. I decided to test drive the patriot because of its better gas miliage then most SUVs, and sleek style. I was in love. That was it, I was sold. I never did a second glance at any other car/suv I was orignially considering. The patriot has such a fun drive, with its valve engine it has a nice "zip" to it and is unique to the core. I love the spacicous backseat (my 6'5 husban fits completely comfortably in the backseat which is a first in all the cars we have owned!) and comfort-first styling. Toyota and Ford are still waiting for me to show up, but the next day I went back and bought my 2009 Jeep Patriot Sport 4X4 E package. No regrets, best decision of my life. Love it. Highly HIGHLY recomend, Ive been singing its praise ever since....read morehide
