I have found that u sit higher, have less wasted space in front of the dash to the windsheild. although the interior is not over board it is comfortable on long rides, the cruse helps and the vehical is very quiet!!! added XM and can really enjoy the music while driving at any speed. The heater is very quick to warm up and the AC is cold for a big interior. visability is good lots of windows in the right placed, but yhr rear seat head rest are a real pain when trying to back up (must be a washington design requirement) above all it is just fun. THE REAL ADVANTAGE IS THE V6 AND MANUAL TRANSMISSION THOES TO LAZY TO SHIFT HOPE YOU RUN OUT OF GAS....read morehide

I really like Jeep Wranglers and if I were to lose mine, I would get another. I may even get a 2009. I currently have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler and went to consider a 2009. Although the 2009 Wrangler is quite possibly the last true 4x4 with solid axles, I kept my 2006 Wrangler. I found the 2009 has plastic headlights and plastic grill. Plastic headlights are junk in my opinion. They turn gray in a few years and you can't see at night. I like to use my Wrangler like a 4x4 so a plastic grill is not very good protection aginst branches and off road obsticles. The grill is swept foward so it does not really look like the classic Jeep grill. I really could not believe that Wranglers are coming out with power windows. Aren't power windows the first thing to break on a vehicle? The gas peddle felt sluggish to me. I do not like the computer controlled accellerator. That's just one more thing to break when you are off road. I'd like to see the old cable controlled pedal instead. This is the first Jeep Wrangler with plastic molded bumpers. In other words, it has no bumpers to speak of, so they are not good for off roading. The plastic covering on the bumper is sure to fade, crack and peel. Although this complaint is purely about it's appearence, I have never seen a Jeep Wrangler with a curved windshield. The biggest complaint is the engine. The 3.8 Liter V6 is just not as powerful as the 4.0 Liter inline 6. I have been driving manual transmissions all my life and I stalled the engine several times on a take off due to the fact that the V6 is weak and the computer controlled gas pedal has lots of lag. I got the hang of it and still had lots of trouble getting any speed out of the 2009 Wrangler. I have no Idea why the 4.0 liter inline 6 engine was terminated after so many years of service. The 3.8 liter V6 makes nearly the same miles to the gallon that the 4.0 inline 6 engine made. I see no advantage to the V6. The interior of the new Wrangler is very comfortable. I like everything except the new dashboard. The new dashboard is just simply too over-engineered to be in a Wrangler. I know it sounds like a lot of complaints, but I would actually buy one if I did not already have my 2006. The 2009 is a down grade to the 2006 in my opinion. If I had not driven a 2006 or owned a 2006, I would jump at the chance to own a 2009. The bottom line is I would still recommend it. It's just too over engineered to be a true Wrangler and it's not for me. Soon the Jeep Wrangler we all know and love will be a thing of the past. The name may live on, but this is the beginning of the end. :...read morehide

This is my first Jeep and after this I will not drive anything else. It's a basic, simple, and rugged vehicle but it's fun to drive, handles well, and is comfortable. I have the soft top and so far it's been pretty easy to take off and on. I have the 6 cylinder, wouldn't get a smaller engine, the Jeep needs pickup and power. Not bad on gas. I don't like the way it handles in the snow, I think it probably needs some weight in the back such as sand or something. All together it's just a fun, simple, good looking vehicle!...read morehide

This is my 2nd wrangler. I love it! Engineers took all the problems with the old wrangler and fixed them. Great sound system. No more noisy soft top. I got the lifetime warrenty. The ultimate summer vehicle!

I recently purchased my Jeep Wrangler JK from a dealership in Arkansas and I love it. It has so many little things the Jeeps of the past were lacking. The newly designed interior places it in a class more with "cars" than past Jeeps. The Inifinity Sound System with the Sirius radio rocks. The ride and handling is also better. The Sunrider Top is also really nice, you can open it in like five seconds and close it in the same, all without actually removing anything. As far as the Trail Rating goes, I actually tested my stock Jeep at a off road park in Hot Springs, Arkansas and was amazed at what it could do and handle! As it sits up higher than previous models you can compete with some Jeeps that have been lifted and modified. I absolutely LOVE my new Jeep. The only complaints I would have would be the seats don't seem to fold up and forward as much as older models (thus making it harder to get in the backseat) and the water that pours inside when you open the doors after a good rain (some type of channel would have been a good idea)....read morehide

This is my 4th Wrangle over the past 15 years. At the present, I have 98 Sports 4.0 also. Each has their own personality, but I like each just as much. The 09 with the 6 speed get's good if not great mileage, 22-24 oveall.
While a Wrangler is not for everybody, that's a good thing. It just make be feel good that it's fits my lifestyle. If I want a "car", I'll get out my 06 Liberty with the 2.8 Diesel to go to town or church....read morehide

This is my 6th Wrangler since 1992 and I would have to say that a Wrangler is a Wrangler is a Wrangler. If you are considering this vehicle then doo yourself a favor and get the sirius and NAV. I know that you are saying that you don't need it and will never use it but I said that to. I went for a basic X and came away with a slighlt upgraded X with the 17 inch wheel package but not much more. After installing an aftermarket Sirius system (correctly) I wish I would have had the integraded system. Now I am considering a NAV system and am wishing I would have added it to the Jeep at the time of the order. One major pro was the fuel economy. No seriously for real. I took my Jeep to military training from Ohio to Virginia and was getting 25MPG on the highway. I normally get 21 in the city. My secret is conservative driving and the 6 speed manual transmission. Also, I use Mobile 1 full synthetic. I just purchased a K&N FIPK and will probably squeeze more Horse Power as well as a few more MPG's out of the Jeep. I know that I got an extra 5-8 MPG's out of my GMC 2500HD with one. If you are saying tha this guy spends too much on his Jeep then do the math on the fuel savings and you wil see that I actually come out ahead. One last thing...if you are up in the air as to basic equipment then think 2 door, full hard door, duel top, manual transmission with 17 inch tires and remember they give military incentives over sale prices and rebates....read morehide
