I love the look of this car as they have made a great opal white color white with silver handles, it has all the bells and whistles, but I didnt know I thought the first time ever buying a 4 cyl, that it get worse gas than my usual grand marquis mercury, I has a very dangerous feature that happens for no reason the car jumps as soon as you put your foot on gas pedal say at a light, it jumps forward, it scares me, but the car has nice size, I wouldnt get a 4 cyl again, and I think I would go with the ride of my daughters honda accord, I did buy the car for its warranty , already my left rear brake light is out and window brake light, never had this happen in a car with only 16,ooo miles, I have had v8 all my life , I will deffinately get a 6 next time and a smoother ride, for the money of $19,000 and paid cash it is not what I expected, this jumping thing is scary!!! Good luck!...read morehide

Bought this car for my daughter with 57000 miles on it and have watched her put 23000 more on it in 2 years for only the cost of tires and brakes. I drive it sometimes myself and find the ride comfortable and easy to control.

Are you kidding? This is by far the best car I have ever owned. I got on the Kia band wagon in 2001 with a new Rio. Remember those weird green ones? I special ordered it thinking it was yellow. Ooops! I took delivery anyway. It ran so good I bought another one four months later for my daughter. Since then I've owned five Rio's. I average 50K miles a year. Yeah, I pay my fair share of road taxes. Last May was in the market for another Rio when I spotted the '09 Optima. It's looks pulled me in and the test drive sold me. For an additional two grand over the now popular Rio, how could I refuse? My first Rio was five grand. My last was near fifteen. For around seventeen thousand, you get every option on the planet and 10 years worth of warranty if you are the average driver. Mine runs out faster than most yet the Kia's I own still run way beyond the 100K warranty. I still have my daughters '01 with 120K on it and an '03 with 149K on it. An '06 with 125K, a newer '08 Rio, and now this '09 Optima. The Rio's average 35-40 mpg depending on speed. The Optima 32-36 depending on grade of gasoline. The headlights blow everybody away on low beam. Frequently I get the dim signal from others when on low beam. I've racked up about 25K miles thus far. The car turns heads everywhere I go. It's got the 4 cylinder. Plenty of punch with the five speed automatic. In days of old I craved the big blocks for power. Gas prices drove me to the Kia. I never owned a four cylinder that hole shots like the optima. She cruises all day at 65-70 depending on the state I'm passing through. Nobody shows me their tail lights unless I allow them too. Rio's are good for what they do, but the Optima is a breed apart. Worth every dime over the Rio. I'm looking for another already. Deals are everywhere on these overlooked cars. If Rio offered cruise control? Put me down for one. No resale value, but they never stop running anyway. Why trade?...read morehide

The 2.4 engine (175 hp) really has some serious power. I did put a cold air flow and K and N filter on it. The gas mileage rose by the trip computer 6 miles. The power increase is noticable. This is my first new car so I was very anal about my choices. It was Optima or the Forte. Both cars are really good quaility and are built here in the US. I looked the The Big Three. All those cars are junk. AL heads on a iron block. Major problems with those engines. I am happy with my pick and hope this helps any person who is looking....read morehide

I just purchased an 09 Kia Optima SX V6. Fully loaded with the Navigation system, sun roof, alloy rims, satellite radio, leather and so on. I really was checking out Hyundai Sonata and the dealer showed me the Optima and I was hooked. It was a demo car with 7,000 miles (demo car is the car people test drive to see if they like it) for $17k which is the base price of a regular Optima I got a 10 year 100k warranty bumper to bumper and a fully loaded SX V6!! No complaints yet and it drives real nice and features are great! I recommend this car and hopefully I will set a trend of seeing more Kia Optima and less Nissan's and Toyota's which are way overpriced for an 09 with less options then the KIA on the road. Hit me up if u got Questions...read morehide

My husband recently surprised me with a new car, the Kia Optima. I love, love, love this car! It's the smoothest vehicle I've ever driven, has a luxury feel to it, the dash is attractive, everything is very well done. I would recommend it to anybody.

Well I purchased my 2007 Kia Optima new. It has excellant mileage and is very dependable. I purchased it in Va. I was reassigned to Alaska and I was kind of reluctant about driving, but I drove it from Fort Lee, Va to Fairbanks, Alaska, didn't have a problem and I haven't had a problem yet. Just the seats are still uncomfortable, but I am happy with my Kia!!...read morehide
