Manufacture did not satisfy my problem with the car I bought new in 2006. Rio had an ongoing problem with the coil which cause the car to run rough when ask how to fix the problem was told to keep having them replaced now very reliable traded it for a Nissan Altima.

Bought new, it replaced a Hyundai Elantra I drove over 160k without much trouble. Loved the warranty and liked the exterior design over the sister-version Accent. Rides well enough, and has more space inside than it might seem from exterior. I would recommend it to anyone shopping for a subcompact, for thousands less than a civic or corolla....read morehide

I bought this car from a rental place, and the only problem so far has been the original battery, which I changed. Good warranty, which covers free towing and jump start. It is a small car, so strong winds and 18-wheelers may shake it a little bit. On the good side sometimes when I drive I have to keep an eye on the odometer because I may be driving at 80mph, and I don't realize I'm going that fast. The drive is smooth and nice. It has a small engine, so don't expect great acceleration. It doesn't have fancy features, just AC and a CD player, which is a little inconvenient on long trips. For the price it is a very good car....read morehide

I bought my Rio new and is the second Kia I own, my Sephia is still running with over 200,000 miles on it. I have drove my Rio on the free way and it is a nice ride for those of us who live within our means. My relative just bought a new Kia Spectra and got $3000 of the price and u cant beat the warranty....read morehide

This is the worse car I've ever driven. I got it as a rental, and will NEVER accept another one. I am 5'8, and my right leg was literally cramping from trying to drive it on a 5 hour road trip. Much too small for anyone tall. Also, it just seems overall cheap. Doesn't handle well, bad acceleration. I have a Kia Spectra, an '03, and it is MUCH better than the newer Rio....read morehide

It's a great car. I haven't had any trouble with the steering wheel vibrating, but the brakes are a little sketchy. Space is tight, but the car handles better the sports car I had before the Rio.

I have had my Rio for exactly 3 years, and I love it. I have driven it up and down the length of Oregon more times than I can count, and have never had any problems. It gets great mileage and goes 80 on the freeway without you even realizing it. Maybe I just got lucky with mine, and it is the first new car I have bought, but I love it....read morehide

I was given this car as a weekend rental to take a family member out of town for a funeral. Not only is the ride extremely rough, the seats provide no support or comfort, the wind noise when windows are open is absolutely terrible, you can't hear the radio for road noise, the steering wheel design and materials are awful (esp. when you have to maintain a grip for more than a couple hours) and the interior is extremely cheap. Worst of all, whenever I exceeded 65 mph, the steering wheel vibrated a lot. The trip was over 1200 miles roundtrip, and I am honestly thankful to GOD that I didn't get in an accident. If I had, the HP probably would have had to literally scrape me and my family off the Interstate. I drive a 10 year old Pathfinder which has more luxury than this. It's a great car if you don't want to spend much $ on a vehicle or maintenance, but if you travel or desire safety (on a daily basis), I would not recommend a Rio....read morehide

Bought my Kia Rio new in 2005. Standard shift, no extras. I'd still be driving it but it was totaled in a recent accident. I missed the power steering and the automatic transmission that I declined. Very satisfied with the car and the dealer. Purchased a Kia Spectra this time and I'm loving it so far....read morehide

Plain and simple: This car is driven to get you from point A to point B. It is not a car to enjoy a drive in. I own a 2005. I use it to drive to work 30 minutes away, on the highway. I use it to go buy groceries. I don't drive it around to impress anybody. It has never failed me. I treat it well since it takes me to work. That's all it's used for. If you're buying a car to make you feel good about yourself, this is not the car for you. Plain and simple. The braking is not excellent, but then again, this car shouldn't be driven on the highway as if you're driving a pricy car. I can drive 80 miles per hour without any problems, if there's a need for it....read morehide
