A well built entry level luxury car. Ride is comfortable and brake is good.
But, the car feels heavy when driving off from stop position. I regret not having the dvd navigation.

I purchased my new 2009 ES350 a month ago. Overall, I very happy with it. Before the purchasing, I have looked at Acura TL, Infiniti G37, and Mercedes C350. For my application, I like the ES350 the most.
The driving is very smooth; inside the cabin, the road noise is well isolated even when I am driving at highway speeds. The 6-speed transmission works seamlessly, it delivers the power on time during the acceleration. Regardless the size and the weight of the car, the acceleration is surprisingly good for its class.
60% of my driving is on highway and 40% is on local; my average gas-mileage is at about 22 miles/gallon. I think this is a respectable number for the V6/272hp car.
Inside, both front and back seats are very roomy. In fact, on this aspect (space), I think ES350 is the best comparing with the other cars I looked at.
On the negative side:
Since this model is on its' 3rd year, I don't think the electronic equipments is the state-of-the-art. Something like: the iPOD interface is a dealer install option (it is more like a bandage solution) and no USB memory interface for the audio system.
The brake is soft (to me). The feeling when I hit the brake is not linear; in other words, it is less sensitive at the beginning push, then becomes more sensitive when the brake goes down further.
I feels that the body-lean is strong on the sharp cornering. This may be the trade-off cost by the soft suspension.
General speaking, I think ES350 is a good-looking family sedan, it covers both the driver's and passage's needs. But if you are focusing on the performance/sportier-feeling, you may have to look at something else.

Lexus ES350 is an excellent car. While driving it, you do not hear nothing but the sound of the A/C blowing on your face. Very smooth, very light, and very fast. The size of the car is ideal, and it's shape is nice too. The gadgets in the car are amazing, you would not find all these features in other cars at the same price. The stereo, the DVD, the rear camera, airconditioned seats, tiptronic gear ..... etc.
I am a Lexus fan, this is the second Lexus that I own, but I have noticed that the old models were tougher. The doors were heavier, and the whole body of the car was stronger. I am not sure how safe the new ES350 is, I do not think it is very safe....read morehide

I've had a 2007 ES 350 for over 2 years and find it to be an excellent car for the value. I had previously owned a Mercedes E 320 fourmatic and I find the ES comparable to the Mercedes ,
at about 10 thousand less money. Plus, servicing is not as expensive as the Mercedes. Overall, I'd have no hesitancy recommending the ES 350....read morehide

I owned a couple of GS models before this one. The GS is built so much better. I have never had any complaints about the GS except for the leg room in the back seat area. My ES 350 only has 35,000 miles on it and it drives like an older car. My GS's had over 100,000 miles on them when I got rid of them and still drove and handled like new....read morehide

I owned a 1997 Es 300 and loved this vehicle. I purchased 2008 es 350 and I hate this vehicle. From the date I drove it off the lot of Classic Lexus I have had nothing but PROBLEMS. The car is not alined correct. The vehicle will drift on all road ways an even on a level road ways. The vehicle has been alined on three occasions and still drifts. They replaced tires due to a broken belt.
The vehcle still has a drift. The dealer Classic Lexus told me the vehicle is alined and will no longer work on the vehicle. After taken the vehicle to two other locations, I was told this vehicle is out of alinement and has a drift. The dealer Classic Lexus would no longer help me with this issue. This vehicle does not drive straight at all....read morehide

I bought my lexus in january of 2009. I previously had a BMW 330i. It is a different ride but in a good way. It's super smooth ride is very nice, the steering is smooth, and it can be pushed to be some what like a sports car. I got a 2008 pebble beach which is almost fully loaded with packages and an intergrated GPS. Since it was an 08 model, I got a huge discount on it. A great salesman got it around 36,000-37,000 dollars which is...again...almost fully loaded. The nav system is one of the best, easy to use and accurate routes. It can recalculate a route in a snap. The display is easy to read. I don't us the GPS often though. The suspension is smoother than the bmw. I was also thinking of getting an Infiniti G37 but my lexus salesman gave a great deal. G37 was actually my first choice. I warn you, people who really like sports cars might not like the ES's handling. But you never know, it happened to me. My wife and son love the back seat. If you don't like the ride of the ES, you might want to try IS or GS. For some odd reason, LG phones don't work well with the bluetooth. You can still call and recieve calls but nothing else. Recommend getting this car....read morehide

Great dependable car, but I sold it after 7,000 miles. The car was nice but very boring to drive. I sold my 3 series to get it and missed my 330i after only a week. The car is way too cushy for me. It handled ok at slow speeds, but once you got going - the car isolates you from the road too much. I never felt comfortable as I never knew what the car was going to do. My 330 was a rougher ride. but it was tight and I always knew what the car was going to do when I threw it into a turn.
This car was still nice, just not my style. I like to drive - this was not a driver's car.
I went back to BMW for an 09 328i and I'm back in love with my car again....read morehide
