Test drove this and the ML350, ended up going with GX for several reasons:
1. Had a GS300 for 8 years and never had a problem with it. Lexus has a much better reliability history than Mercedes.
2. No 3rd row option in the ML.
3. Maintenance costs on Mercedes - yikes. I come from a Mercedes family and have seen those bills.
4. Drive felt much smoother than the ML in terms of acceleration and overall ride. Also has better visibility.
5. Personal preference but I didn't like the feel of driving a crossover, and the ML, like the RX, is more crossover than true SUV. I like sedans or SUVs and not the in-between. Didn't like the feel of the RX either. While it is primarily my car (female) my husband loves driving it, and he thought the RX/ML were too girly.
Overall, very pleased with it after 2 months ... fits 2 carseats nicely (one forward, one rear) and will have plenty of room for the family.
