I love this car, I bought it new because I wanted something to pull a boat and it does that just fine. The ride, handling and acceleration are great. It's very comfortable to sit for a long trip. The leg room in the back seat is great. It is sporty looking and does not look like a big box. I upgraded to custom wheels and it really looks great. We had a big snow storm last winter and I had no problems driving around on the roads. It did excelelnt. I have have 26000 and have had no issues with the car. I highly recommend this car if you want a SUV that is sporty....read morehide

I bought the CX-9 GT with rear entertainment system/ bose package, two weeks ago. So far, everything I have experinced with Mazda has been nothing short of excellence. From the minute I walked into the showroom, to present I can not do anything but RAVE about it. I researched the vehicles in its class for two-three months prior to selecting my vehicle. I already knew it was not a gas sipper, so I will not complain about the gas milage. I will say that it runs on regular unleaded with any problems. (Filled it twice). I have received numerous compliments on the vehicle's looks. There is plenty of room up front and in the back for a number of different combinations of adult and child passengers, as well as cargo space. There are bigger SUV's in its class but they come with a higher price and lower relibility ratings. It has so many features I could not list them all.Too bad I have a company car, or I might be in my Mazda right now. I will update my findings in about three months....read morehide

I LOVE how fast this car is. It hugs the road when driving quick and on a jug handle. You can really trust this car to handle and perform very well. Love the Bose speakers they do sound great.
Go for it! Rated car of the year, #1 as far as safety goes.

Great car. I had a few Lexus SUV's for a number of years. Got tired of my last one and style, Saw the Mazda on TV and then started to look n the internet and then dealers.
It rides better then my Lexus and has more features then my old Lexus cars.
The blind spot feature is nice and it seems to handle well in both dry and snow conditions. It's not a sports car or a truck so I know my limits.
Shop around. I did get many diffrent prices from Three diffrent dealers for the same car and features.
Gas does seem to need a little more fill ups then my Lexus cars but not that much more.
Go for this car. I think it;s great and at this point plan on getting another Mazda for my wife next year....read morehide

This car is comfortable, performs in a powerful and stable manner and gives you a safe feeling at all times. I had very few cars that deliver what is advertised, but this one does. I've been an auto enthusiast since before I could drive and this car is exciting to drive. It may be a crossover SUV, but it drives like a performer. The quality of the fit and finish is excellent on this vehicle. I've owned Ford, Honda and Nissan and this car meets and exceeds their quality of finish. For utility, this vehicle has more space than my previous truck based SUV and rides much more comfortably....read morehide

We leased this one last March and I drove it cross country from California to Tenn. The drive was excellent with the smooth ride and handling. Ran into a huge storm in Texas with 18 wheelers flying by me and the CX9 was steady as ever. That was the first time I feared for my life and yet the CX9 hardly flinched with water splashing all over. You dont feel like you are in a boat but it is very spacious on the inside. I also have a truck and this cX9 feels more like driving a car. My lease is up next March and already we are planning on getting another one....read morehide

I did all my research. I began with safety and fuel economy in SUV/CUV vehicles; my list narrowed down(after driving every one on the market) to the Hyundai Vera Cruz, the Mazda CX-9,the Honda Pilot, and the Acura MDX - quite a span! I actually loved the Vera Cruz, but was prompted by a respected foreign car mechanic to pass on it as he "knew it wouldn't be on the road long without minor problems that would lead to MAJOR problems. I hated the OVERPRICED pilot and our local dealership was HORRIBLE to deal with. The MDX drove like a dream, but I'm cheap and couldn't see spending that much in todays economy.
All the vehicles were comparable in safety features and exceeded everything else on the market in ALL crash tests, rollovers, and crush. The CX-9 handles amazingly well;however, breaking distances report longer than the others (except same as MDX), but I had forgotten what it was like to be able to turn smoothly & quickly(previously in an Expedition). The amount of cargo space without 3rd row in use is very close to my expedition without the height. The interior is beautiful-lots of bang for your buck! And to my surprise, my fuel mileage is averaging about 30 with about a 50/50 spit on hwy/cty. The front doors are quite long so they are easy to open into objects if you aren't used to them. I have 15,000 miles on it already and so far so good! The blind spots are minimal compared to the Murano; it feels roomier than the MDX and it is on the same wheelbase; the third row seat is very usable (but with 2 carseats installed in the second row I have yet to use them). All and all if it lasts as long as other foreign cars, we definitely will get our money's worth!...read morehide
