I have owned my Mazda 6 just a month, but I am in love! Having previously owned Nissan, Toyota, Dodge, Audi, Ford & VW, I can honestly say Im in love with Mazda! Like most, I wanted it all, and I got it. Nothing on the market in this price range was as beautiful in appearance. The car is just darn SEXY! The lines, the curves, the exhaust system integrated into the rear bumper, the spoiler, it just looks sleek and sexy. When I took it to work I had all my coworkers telling me how hot the car looked. The interior is just as great. I purchased a black car with the tan/black 2 tone interior and it just looks fantastic! The 2 tone interior is very unique to this price range. Got the windows tinted, and it just looks gorgeous. So...looks great, how's the performance? This car does not disappoint! I have the V6, and this car has power. Got to 60 mph in no time, and the ride is nice and smooth. I got way more than I expected. As far as the features go....there is really nothing more to want or need. Read the other reviews about the car not auto locking, but that is not a problem for me. I did get the fully loaded model with navigation, 6 disc changer, blue tooth etc...but when I priced it out and compared to other mid size sedans in this range, you get way more for the money with the Mazda 6. (Especially if you know how to haggle price...which I do...lol). The blind spot sensor is awesome, and a feature not available on any of the competition. I must have looked at every mid size sedan on the market in the $20k - $30k price range and the Mazda came out on top on just about everything. I also looked at the Altima, which I have (an 05 that I also love), and gave my Altima to my son. I also test drove the new 09 Altima, and loved it as well, but when I did the side by side comparison and read all the reviews, they were neck and neck. What pushed me to the Mazda...when I compared apples to apples, I just got so much more for the money and some features that are not even available on the Altima. My dealership also gives a lifetime powertrain warranty standard with every purchase. I am in love with my car!...read morehide

Just over a year and over 40,000 miles and no problems. runs great. Gas mileage is questionable compared to sticker price but does get better mileage on flat mid america than Rocky Mountains.

I will say that there are many bells and whistles on this car. I had the dealer customize it to me, which means certain features, like 3 blinks to change lane, are geared to my driving experience. The blind spot monitoring is just one of the many attributes that are exceptional. I traded in my 2001 Mercedes C240 and thought maybe I had made a mistake. I was so wrong. The Mazda 6 is bigger, faster and has everything and MORE that I had previously. Mazda has hit a home run with this vehicle. I did get the top of the line and for the money the Bose sound system and Navigational display are fantastic!...read morehide

Decent fuel consumption: car used for daily commute of about 100 miles (odometer: 17,000): 25-28 mpg with no real effort to save gas (normally driven between 65 - 75 mph). For best fuel consumption leave the car in automatic - do not shift gears manually - it consumes more fuel this way. Comfortable and spacious. With child seat in the middle, two adults can seat in the back without being cramped (Malibu has 4" less width in the back).
Small annoyances: When using keyless entry, must press the unlock button twice to open rear doors. When driving at night, headlights create pointy pattern on the surface of the road. Expected more diffuse pattern....read morehide

Purchased my 2009 mazda6 a couple weeks ago. Loving it so far! Its sooo pretty to look at! Especially compared to like Honda Accord and other mid-size sedans. So far the only thing i've noticed that I dont really like is the size of the side mirrors...they are huge, and for a short person like myself, makes it hard to see cars at intersections (ie 4 way stops)....read morehide

As soon as I laid my eyes on the mazda 6 I knew this was the car for me. Over the past year I have done so much research about this car. Looking up costumer reviews as well as professional. Once one takes this car for a test ride I promise it will be love at first sight. Taking a look at all the diferent models I started weighing out the pros and cons. In the Touring model, the seats are half cloth and trimed with leather, I personaly did not like this on account it looked somewhat taky and being somewhat of a big person I felt the seats had less support than the all leather seats. The blind spot monitoring system is amazing, while driving, if a car pulls up beside you, you will see an orange light go off in the side view mirror. If you turn your signal to change into that lane with a car beside you, a sound will chime alerting you that someone is in that lane.
Besides from the push start button and the crystal clear bose sound system this car has it all. The only problem I have with the keyless entry is that it does not unlock all doors when entering, only the drivers side. Its not a big deal one just simply pushes the "unlock all doors" button in side of the car. The interior of the car looks brilliant, the blue and red speedometer is very pleasing to the eye as well as the red display screen above the center dash. The 6 cd changer looks great and is very easy to use. There is a way to download music into the car but the mazda manual is not clear and sounds somewhat confusing.
The controls on the steering wheel are simple and make driving more fun. Cruise controll is the great and can be turned on with the flick of a finger. One of my favorite features in this car is the blue tooth system. this voice activated calling system is acurate and fiddling with cell phones is a thing of the past. Millage is pretty decent. I only do city driving and am getting 23.3 mpg. On a full take this car can go 506 miles without filling up. Over all this car is has a smooth ride and is very manuverable considering its size. The welcoming lighting system is beautiful at night. As you approach the vehicle the ground lights up comming from the lights under the mirror as well as when your in the vehicle the lights slowly fade up.
I believe I covered almost everything, Even though I did not really look around at all models of other companies this car is the one I have had my heart set on for the longest time. If you are looking for a new car with great looks and features, this car would be the one I recomend for everyone and anyone....read morehide

Overall, I absolutely love this car. For the money, there is no other car out there that offers so many bells and whistles. The engine is powerful and smooth. The only complaint that I have is the front seat. The leather/cloth combination seat does not adjust the lumbar support all the way down, unlike the Grand Touring model. Hopefully, Mazda will come out with a fix. I would def. rec. the Grand Touring seats. Currently, averaging about 19-20 mpg hwy/city....read morehide

I have had this vechicle for 7 months now and as far as looks and roomy it's great. The stick est is 29 mpg on the 4 cyclinder and the best I have gotten is 22.3 driving a distance of 350 miles at 55 mph. When driving at 70 mph it drops to around 19.5. This is not good for a 4 cyclinder car. I have talked to the dealership and they said that is about the average mpg. Other the mpg not being as advertised this is a great vechile....read morehide

I've owned my i-touring 6 with the moon/Bose option for almost a year now and my only complaints are that the car is a bit underpowered and the seats aren't very comfortable. I guess you have to sacrifice power for good fuel economy though and I've averaged 29 mpg's, which is pretty good with mixed city and highway driving even for a 4-cylinder. As for other positives, the car is very roomy, the Bose stereo is great and I've never received more compliments on the appearance of a car before. If power and comfort are your main concerns, take a look at the 6-cylinder Grand Touring, which has more than enough power and has much more comfortable leather seats....read morehide

After a friend suggesting I look at a Mazda in 2007, I looked at the Mazda6 iGT but could not afford it at the time (coming out of a divorce). I bought the '07 Mazda3 sGT and LOVED IT! Never had a Mazda before and was very impressed with the look, reliability, and features for the money! The only drawback with that car was the interior size (too small for me). I wanted to keep the car for my son (he's 12) but when the new look of the Mazda6 came out, I couldn't wait. As soon as I was able, you can imagine what I went back and got!!!! You guessed it...the '09 Mazda6 iGT and yes I LOVE IT! Being a "rookie" Mazda owner, I looked at the Altima, Camry, Accord, and they could not compare to what I got with the Mazda6 for the price. For my 40th birthday, I wanted to get a BMW, but I wouldn't have gotten one with the 'bells and whistles' I got on my Mazda6 (leather interior, satellite radio, gps, bluetooth, spoiler, sunroof, BSM)!
Several people have stopped to asked me the color (black cherry) and to complement me on the car (I look good in it). Very stylish looking...sleek...and a must have.
Now after driving two Mazdas, I have become a "loyal" Mazda owner. I can't imagine driving anything else....read morehide
