The ultimate SUV used by military in more than 60 countries. The refined luxury civilian version with the G55 AMG rides stiff on low profile tires and has tremendous power. Handbuilt in Austria by Mercedes for 30-years, it is a classic. Despite being a Mercedes, it is normal with some rattling and wind noise. The front screen is completely flat and a bug magnete. This is the heavy duty SUV from Mercedes. The ML and GL have more comfort but less off road capability. The G you either love or hate. The engine and drive train is amazing with enormous power and speed. The twin exhaust side pipes are unique. Warranty support by Mercedes USA is the best for this SUV in my experience. Any concern or issue have promptly been addressed. My next SUV will be another G55 Kompressor....read morehide

Great vehicle. Not a high performance SUV like a Cayenne Turbo, but more of a hot rod truck.

These are just facts and any seemingly negative shold not be construed as disappointments. If you want a four-door 4wd vehicle this is the one. All MB. Great sound system. Leather is fabulous. One problem with the leather is that it seem to be wearing on the front edge of the drivers seat. As in any MB you need to stay on top of the leather with monthly treatment. I plan on driving this car for 75-100K miles and I am sure it will make it. Plenty of room. I drove the AMG model and was offered a good deal on one that was at the dealership. It was overkill. This car was not designed to go 100 mph. The base 500 model is enough for any one. The only car that I would compare ikt with is the 90 inch wheel base Land Rover Defender 4 Dr that is no longer imported and the LR is a very rough ride ( I had one ). This is a nice off road car. I drive it occasionally on farm/ranch land in Texas. The land is relatively flat but has no roads and it has never gotten into a situation it could not get out of. But I probably drive 95% of the milage on paved roads....read morehide
