Great SUV!
In some ways I think this vehicle preforms better and is more comfortable than our SL 500. That's really saying something when you consider the difference in price tags.

This is one of the best SUVs I have ever driven. It drives like a car on the freeway, it handles like an SUV on my ranch. It feels safe, it is comfortable and it is the most reliable car/SUV I have ever driven.
I would recommend it to everyone who likes fine vehicles. Ferdinad , Houston, Texas

Hard to clean the light color floor mats

Huge improvement over the older model. Much better mpg then is listed. Very smooth ride and the controls are easy to handle. When compared to the Lexus this is so much easier to see out of. I looked at all sizes and brands of SUV's and by far this was the best of the pack. I have the ML350 and it has plenty of power and teamed with the 7 speed transmission it's a great ride and drive....read morehide

Better gas mpg than I expected, great power, smooth ride, easy to use nav system.

The ML550 handles like a sports car. The only gear you feel is 1st to 2nd/3rd as it skips gears depending on how much I excelerate. The best power is from 2nd to 7th. The only thing that is ackward to me is the drive shift; I sometimes forget where it is. Harmon/Kardon sound system is great!

Coming out of a Porsche 911, I was absolutely impressed with the performance and handling. The styling is aggressive, but tasteful. The acceleration is excellent for a rather heavy "small" SUV. Steering is elegant and smooth. Shifting is excellent. A bit sluggish on an uphill during highway cruise if in the top (7th) gear of the automatic, but if you push on the gas it responds nicely. The nav is typical of european cars and leaves a little desire for improvements. However, it is entirely functional and one should not be too picky. Likewise with the turn signal. It is a little lower on the left steering stalk, but takes 15 min. to get used to it. The gear shift is great. Electronic, push button and easily accessible on the steering column. 10 min max to get accustomed to it. Great style, functional 4 wheels, top 5 star SAFETY, good MPG for an SUV, comfort and convenience. Overall, can't be all things to all people, but this comes very, very close. I've been looking at mid-sized SUVs for months now, and am extremely satisfied with the 2009 ML350 I just purchased. Most wont even come close to using this vehicle's capacity or performance, but it is exceptional for the masses and that's the appeal as well. I "feel" the road in this SUV and feel very safe. Might give this to the wife and pick up the MLAMG in the future....I plan to have this one for a long time! Truly a world-class automobile....read morehide

Too many problems; get ready to spend many days in service dept

Constant problems; noises coming out of everywhere; transmission kicks; it has so many problems that seems I bought a 10 year old Ford car. If you buy this SUV, get ready to have it reatuned to Service for so many problems.

It is a Mercedes; it is supposed to be reliable, but not so. The 2009 ML350 that I got, has so many malfunctions, I can not even describe all of them. cruise control not working; tail light keeps burning (I have changed it twice in 2 weeks), and it is burned again; I am sure there is an electrical problem. It has gone to shop 4 times so far. I am sick of it.
I wish I can get out of contract and go back to my Honda Pilot. I had no problem in 3 years of leasing the Honda.

I suggest getting a Lexus or Acura instead of this garbage....read morehide
