I use my S Class 500 once a week since I have 8 cars to use alternately. However my driver does a 5 to 10 minutes warm up on it everyday. It has been good until today when the engine lost its power. It is still in the car care of the dealer for two weeks now and i was told that the injector is clogged and has accumulated carbon deposits. How could it be wherein I only use the highest octane rating gas and had in maintained by the book....read morehide

Most unreliable car I have ever owned--problems w transmission, electronics, air suspension, audio system. Warranty is OK, but my time wasted taking this junk to the shop was worth many times the cost of this lemon. Previous 7 series even was better. I would strongly discourage anyone from buying this car....read morehide

1. Navi broke : took all my CD inside even though they said they will send back.
2. Brake fixed but still noisy
3. Rear shock fixed (Passenger side)
4. Next week driver side gone.
5. Windshield blade worn out too fast and expensive. Cheery hill NJ (not much rain here)

Too little car for the money. Spends more time in the repair shop than on the road. Electronics keep failing. For such a huge price tag, it should be more reliable.

I have had it for a bout 1 1/2 year and I am already tired of it. I miss my SL500. It had a much better performance. The gas pedal in this car is too heavy and my foot gets tired after driving for 10 mins. I constantly have to use the cruise control even for very short driving. The maintainance is not cover by MBZ and it is very costly....read morehide

The car has been in the shop several times already for electronic failures. MB quality control has plummeted since the late 80s. Finicky engine once stalled on me, problems w transmission and stereo system could use improvement.

After owning some of Germany's best; Audi A8, Bimmer 7 series and a previous S class, this car is fast, smooth, comfortable and safe. In AMG trim w/ 20 inch tires, side skirts and panoramic rear sunroof it's a poor man's Bentley. Distronic cruise makes clogged interstates tolerable while the interior with perforated leather and insulated glass is comfortable and quite. Sport suspention setting is my everyday ride. Active side seat bolsters hold you in place like velcrow. A must have option! Fairly flat in the twisties, smooth and controlled ride, sticks like glue with summer rubber. Makes my old S class feel 1,000 lbs. heavier. If you're into a chauffer, there's more room in the rear than my living room. However, I've owned it a year and still hit the wrong window controls and no, I'm not dislexic. Night vison fell off the windshield and now resides in the truck as it's a worthless $1,000 + option w/ poor placement and questionable performance. At least the Non-UV coated NV opening makes for a perfect radar detector position. Note to those that have trouble with transpondors not working - Benz engineered in 2 places on the windshield for such devices. Check your manual. Initial quality was excellent (surprise!) Since then night vision, side seat bolsters, and some minor electronic nit picks have been fixed 1st try. Shane on Benz for making me pay $20 large for all the options - but then, they're not looking to be bailed out. Nice chariot and kudos to the benz engineers!...read morehide

After putting 30000 miles on the S550. Brake pedal starts make noise due the imperfect vaccuum system. Dealer could not fix it and stated that the anoying noise was a feature of S class. Ridiculous for a car costing over $100000. Very unhappy customer.
