Overall, I am in love with this car! =) My parents purchased it for me as a graduation gift. I love the look of the car and the comfort when am driving. I noticed many reviews complaining about the blinds spots; however, I haven't had any problems with that.. I also love the height of the car..perfect view of the road! The sound system is awesome..and the sunroof.. the car is great on gas..
However, the downside is the backseat. I primary use my car so I can move around..but there are times I have had my friends or nieces in the car and they do NOT love the space back there for their legs..yet they somehow manage to get comfortable.
Like I have mentioned before..this car is overall a great car. I would not recommend it for a family..mainly for 1 or 2 people.....read morehide

I love driving my Eclipse! I feel "cool" when sporting around in my eclipse. There's not much room in the back seat especially if you actually have legs. It's kinda hard to see anything behind you that doesn't show itself in the rearview mirrors.

A work of art. Takes curves as though it is on tracks. Decent gas mileage. Tight handling. Very solidly built -- a few weeks ago, I was hit by a red-light-runner, and barely felt the impact -- I first knew what had happened as I saw parts of my Eclipse flying through the air in front of me. Repairs are reasonably priced. I have the manual tranny -- easy, smooth shifting. Sweet premium sound system. Comfortable front seats. Some complain about blind spots; to me, this is not so much of a problem if you adjust the mirrors carefully. This is my second Eclipse; the first one went 13 years. I purchased my Eclipse in 2006, before that I had a Lancer. I love this car, its very sporty and was right in my price range. The gas mileage was a big help in a rough economy. I primarily use it as a two seater, which suits my just fine. I didnt buy the car to carry around 4 people, I bought it to carry me around. The blind spots are a lil difficult, but with more time you spend in the car you become used to them and learn to drive it. The car handles great, the doors feel strong when you close them and open them its a really long lastinf car, and its size is great fits anywhere. Very Fast!

Everything is great about new 2009 Eclipse GS trim. Except the back seat is practically use less. As in its too cramped for any one to sit in it. Could use moe leg room. Else its a great car with super looks and super handling.

WELL BUILT, EFFECTUATES GREAT , GREAT TRACKING, HANDLES GREAT, SAFETY FEATURES. I'M SPOILED, TURN KEY ON & GO, TURN KEY OFF & GET OUT, EXCEPT FOR A FEW MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO ACCESSORIES.
HANDLING & CONTROL:EG.- I HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID ANOTHER DRIVER,GOING 55 MPH AT NIGHT & SLID SIDEWAYS DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH, MY ECLIPSE HUNG IN THERE, WITH NO HINT OF ROLLING, UPON SLOWING ENOUGH, I THEN MADE IT OFF THE SIDE THE ROAD TO A SAFE STOP IN THE GRASS.
IT HAPPEN SO FAST (I GUESS REACTION, DEPEND ON DRIVING EXPERIENCE), BUT HANDLED SO GOOD. IT ONLY TOOK A FEW MINUTES TO REGAIN MYSELF, THEN BACK ON THE INTERSTATE & ON HOME, TO THINK ABOUT WHAT JUST HAPPEN. THIS IS A GREAT CAR TO HAVE & A PLEASURE TO DRIVE AROUND TOWN OR ON A TRIP, RATHER STRAIGHT OR CURVY ROADS. HANDLING:IT CAN (IF YOU HAVE THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE & DON'T PUSH IT, PAST ITS LIMITATIONS) TAKE CURVE FASTER THAN MILES POSTED SPEED ON SIGN. I own a 2008 SE model and absoulty love it. I take my car on a lot of trips and have drove it 10 hours straight, it was comfortable for me the whole time. I do ALOT of research before I buy ANY car and each time the Eclipse comes up the clear winner when you factor in price, comfort, handling and that 10 year 100,000 mile warranty!
