I have had my 2009 Galant V-6 Sport for about 5 months. I have found NO meaningful things to complain about. The gas milage with the V-6 engine is right about the sticker listing of 25 MPG highway, I have checked my actual milage on several long trips and this number (25 MPG) holds pretty true. The V-6 has excellent accelleration, and the bluetooth feature is a must for anyone who spends any amount of time on the road. Handling is also a plus although it has a smaller turning radius than the car it replaced (2000 Saturn LS). My wife even likes the car a win-win situation. For 2010 Mitsubishi has elimininated the V-6 engine for the Galant and the 5-speed sportronic transmission. You should see better milage but I bought the V-6 Sport because of the engine and transmission combo. One reason I considered Mitsubishi is I had a 1985 Chrysler Laser that had a Mitsubishi engine that was rock solid and could run like a scalded ape. If you are considering a family sized car that has sport performance at an excellent price, buy this car....read morehide

I bought this car used after trading in my 98 Honda. It had 24,000 miles when I bought it. So far I am enjoying this car. I have used it on icy highways a couple of times and it handled very well. I was a little bit worried because on a website that reviewed this car, one of the cons stated is that it has no traction control which might be a problem on icy highways. Then I remembered that my Honda did not have traction control either and I never once slid while driving it. It does very well going uphill considering it is a 4 cylinder. It also accelerates well while passing other vehicles. The ride is very smooth and it handles well while driving around curvy highways which is something that I do on a daily basis. The interior is comfortable and the stereo system has a very nice sound. The only downside is the black carpet. We live in a rural area with lots of dirt surrounding us, so if my kids track dirt in the car it really shows. Other than that, I am really enjoying this car. This is the second Mitsubishi that I have owned, first one was a Mirage and it was a good commuter car that never gave me any problems (got rid of it after three years because it had no air conditioning)....read morehide

I bought the car in July 2008 and I have found that the negatives outweigh the positives for me. The radio rattles as I drive the car making an irritating noise daily, the glove compartment rattles when the car is idling sometimes. I took all the items in the compartment out because I thought that was the problem...it still rattled at idle.
The 4 cylinder is not meeting my needs for accleration and the suspension of the car is not meeting my needs for handling and drivability. My previous cars were 6 cylinders, and I thought I could get accustomed to the decreased performance of a 4 cylinder...I haven't. I like to hit slight curves and power through 5-10 mph of the posted speeds...with this car I'm afraid it might roll. In the Altima I could it a curve at 5-10 mph over the posted mph and keep on rolling. It has potential, but I went from a Altima 3.5 SE to this car, so I know what I like and this car does not meet my needs.
It's a great car for some one who does not like to push their cars. Even though it is suppose to be a Sport Edition, it does not perform or handle like one....read morehide

I love this car. I've had it for 5 months, and have zero meaningful complaints.
I traded in a Saab 9-3 for my Galant, which had about 12,000 miles on it at the time of purchase, and I couldn't be happier. The Galant is more comfortable, has better acceleration, and more standard options. It handles well and the steering is tight for a larger car. The radio reception isn't the greatest, but the CD player and speakers put out great sound for factory parts.
It gets good enough gas mileage (about 390 miles per tank) between a mixture of highway and city driving. It has a spacious back seat and trunk as well....read morehide

this car is fast but it should have a cold air intake and a 6 speed transmission so you can get better gas milage on the highway
drives like a compact car but fits 4 adults very comfortably.

Everything is good, and comfortable. My last Mitsubishi was lasting for 12 years, and without any single problem. I have my glant for 4 months, and runs great. Feel solid when I drive on the road. No problem at all. At least, everything is much better than American automobiles...... they are just piece of junk....read morehide

I am very pleased with this car. The MPG is closer to the low estimates in the city, but I am exceeding the estimates on the highway. The outside of the car looks great, but the interior (dash and doors) could use a little work. There isn't as much space as I'd like in the driver's seat, but it's not uncomfortable.
The 6 month subscription to satellite radio that comes with the new purchase was a pleasant surprise. I thought I'd never use it, but I find myself listening to it more than my MP3 player in the car.
I've seen a lot of reviews that say the ride is "rough" but compared to my 2001 Focus, it feels like I am floating on air. It is possible that it does not compare favorably against other cars in its class, but it does not seem unreasonably rough to me. I would highly recommend this car for anyone that is looking for a lot of features but doesnt' have a large budget....read morehide

Many people don't think Mitsubishi is good car. I believed it before until I bought one. It's my third Mitsubishi here on today. I owned a Mirage for 10 years, and it never had any problem. I drove it everyday, and my best MPG on highway- 38 MPG, from Boston to New York. I traded it because I needed a new car. Then I bought the outlander, it' still good. Recently, I just bought the galant. It's good comfort ride, feeling solid, good passing power on the road (highway or city), good pick up from the red ight, and safe. Not like Camry or Accord....The MPG may little less than Camry or Accord, but it's more fun to drive than others. If you expected to keep your car for more than 10 years, then go for Camry or Accord. I don't say you can't keep your Mitsubishi for over 10 years because I never tried it before. I don't want to tell something, which I never had it before. But my friends told me that their Camry or Accord still runs good after 10 years.
Some people may complained the auto parts from Mitsubishi, they cost more than others. Yes, it's true. But it just a few dollars or 20 dollars more on average. It's no problem to me, too. Mitsubishi also costs less and lowest financial rate than others Japanese automobiles markers. It seems buying Toyota and Honda can save you the money in the future because the resale value, and the fix cost. But... we have to pay extra money for them first.... then we saved the money after 10 years. I preferred to invest this extra money for market more than the cars....read morehide
