This is the first Galant that I've owned and I love my car. Me being a 6'5 female it is hard to find cars with leg room and I have plenty in this car. I love the sporty appearance of the car, I always receive compliments on it. The highway mileage is not as good as I thought. I go to Kentucky a lot and from Illinois that is a 5-6 hour drive and I make it there with a tank in half. But besides that I would recommend this car to anyone....read morehide

I drive about 35,000 miles a year - traveling 8 states in the upper-Midwest. I was looking for reliability, comfort and good value. I wanted some sporty performance and the power to take the kind of heavy road travel I would require of a car. After shopping around I selected the Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart bought new 2007. I currently have 75,125 miles on the car and it runs with the best of them. I still enjoy driving the Ralliart and have been satisfied with the outstanding service I get from my dealer. I service the car as called for by the owner?s manual and I am on my second set of tires. I went with a softer tire and it improved the ride. If all goes well I plan on driving this car for at least two more years - 150,000. My experience with the Ralliart is that it handles excellent at all speeds. It is a bit more powerful than I really need but the power is there if I ever need it and I have used it merging onto Interstate highways. It is a comfortable car however it only has power seats on the passenger side of the car. Plenty of storage room in the car, trunk, center council and glove box. Easy to use instrument panel and navigation system and great satellite radio and sound system. Nice oversized wheels.
The only time the car has let me down is when the ignition key lost recognition of the car and I could not start the car?this happened twice and the second dealer found a lose wire in the steering column, since then no problems with the car. Areas of the car I would improve if I could?
1. The steering radius is not tight enough ? it takes way too much space to turn the car in a circle or to make a U-turn.
2. The driving ?for me- would be more comfortable with a telescoping steering wheel. Wheel adjusts up and down but not in and out.
3. The satellite system is easy to operate however the maps have to be loaded to a CD changer in the trunk and are two to three years behind new construction and are very costly to up-date....read morehide

I have the 2009 1/2 model (built after Aug 2008), so mine has the 18" wheels and the Bluetooth on it. Ive read some reviews that said that the Galant should have included Bluetooth, so I want to point out that they now have bluetooth std.
I lhad an 04 Galant and this is every bit as nice as that was. The only major downfall is that Mitsu kept that rubbery dash board. It collects dust and is harder to clean than other cars. One improvement from 04 is that the design is a bit more sleek. I specifically like the way the windows are positioned on the rear doors now. The 04 was very difficult to check passenger side blindspots, but the 09 has corrected the problem.
I recently rented a 2008 Camry and I would like to compare the 09 Galant to that Camry. The Mitsu blows the Camry out of the water. I felt that the Camry had more road noise while driving at highway speeds. I also liked the sport cloth of the Galant much more than I liked the cloth on the Camry. Plus, the Galant is heated cloth. Overall, the interior was nicer on the Galant. Even the rubber dash looked better than the Camry's dash, It would just harder to clean. The brakes were much more responsive and effective on the Galant. I also found the Galant's sound system to be much nicer. The two didn't vary greatly in engine performance. However I do like the fact that a Galant is a 5 spd vs the 4 speed Camry.
I can tell you this. When I was driving the Camry I couldn't wait to get back home to my Galant. Do yourself a favr and give this car a serious look....read morehide

I'm on my third Galant and love them... I've never had a problem and actually only traded them in because it was "time" to trade. I had a 1994, a 2000 and now a 2005. great dependable car..

I have tried the Mitsubishi Galant just to say I have tried almost all of the cars and ended up buying one! I was surprised with the quality this brings, which the astonishing 10 year warranty. Who gives 10 year warranties nowadays? It only gives credence that Mitsubishi backs up their production.
Upon further examination from their website, they have been around the last 91 years, making car in Japan, as lonf as General Motors!...read morehide

What I like about my new 09 is the styling of the car. Very impresive as I notice those with models earlier, always checking it out. Styling is just about all I can say very positive on the car. I dont like the fact that the lights stay on in idle, where sometimes this may be a problem for me. I dont like the fact there is only one 12v plug in the entire car. I dont like the waffle like pattern on the dash. Already I see dust accumulating in the crevices, even though I wipe it down a few times a week. I dont like the fake pearl like strip on the dash. I dont like the fact theres a large whole under the grill where it can cause litter to hit the radiator. But all in all its ok. I guess I just have to get over these things....read morehide

If I was to compare my new 09 Galant to my last car, a Camry, the Camry would win hands down. Thats not to say the Galant isnt a nice car, but Toyota has got the lead here. I do love the stying this year as opposed to the last years with that bumblebee rear look. Iam disappointed for a few things. For one, the simple fact that there is not a 12v plug in the console, as I found from my salesman there has been in the past several years. That to me, is important for several reasons. Why go backward? Also, the interior is kind of chincy. They try to give a marble look to the panel on the dash, and all it does is make it look all smeared up. As one other person said, you cant turn off the headlights when idleing. That will cause me a problem this winter when having to idle the car warming it up at my condo in the morning and have the headlights shooting into my nieghbors windows. Iam not looking forward to that. All in all its a nice car. I just have those issues with it....read morehide

I have had many cars in my life, many Toyotas, Hondas and Nissans, only now I have tried a Mitsubishi vehicle and I should have bought one earlier. The Mitsubishi engineers and designers know how to make beautiful, safe and reliable vehicles, as I came to know more about them in their website; Mitsucars, and that speaks loudly about their first in innovations, first in car production and many captured rallies and championships I had not been aware of. Its quality at its best....read morehide

Mitsubishi needs to change this Galant from every angle. It has got a terrible fuel economy and does not come up to the standard of other mid-size sedans such as Accord, Sonata, Altima, Camry and Malibu. Galant hasnt even got the comfort as other cars in its class.
