I bought my "06" Altima 2.5 LE back in Dec of "08" used with just over 14K miles on it. So far I love it. Around town I'm getting 24.6mpg but haven't taken any real hwy trips with it yet. Good accelertion for a 2.5L engine. Handles well but a tiny bit noisy at times. Nice sound system and decent interior room. Nice large trunk helps a lot with shopping/trips. Over all I'm very pleased with this car and wouldn't heasitate to buy another one in the future but hope to get 100K before then....read morehide

I have a 2009 Altima and I feel the vehicle is a nice car to purchase. I enjoy everything about my car. Everyone that has rode with me has told me it has a smooth ride. The only thing I dont like about the car is the payment but you have to pay for what you want.

I rented this car for 2 weeks last month. I hated it. It handled quite poorly - so bad I bought a tire pressure guage to check the pressure, which was OK. Car seemed to float over the pavement.
Controls are non-intuitive. Seating was not supportive.
Parking brake pedal should be a useful hand brake....read morehide

I owned the 3.5SL when it first came out with CVT, and loved it. Now one divorce later I purchased the 2.5S, what I could afford.I do like the keyless thing, but is the car more secure with it? The 2.5S is noisy when you accelerate, very noisy I find, but goes quite on a cruse. Fuel economy is good, or is in mine anyway, but for its horse power it dont seem to kick butt when you floor it! Ive been in other 2.5 cars that go quite well and quiter than this. Im very disappointed with the engine, not what I expected from Nissan. It also should have been a V6, soother and quiter. The interior finish is, I find, quite good. The dash has more like a rubbery feel than the plastic of most cars. I do like the car, its positive to drive and looks quite nice. I miss my 3.5SL though, if you can afford the extra go this way....read morehide

Mine is the 2007 2.5 S. Annoying vibration around 50km/h. High rpm noise while driving down a long hill. Touchy brakes. Noisy engine during initial acceleration. All of these are caused by poor coordination between the pulley and belt in the CVT, I think. Wonder if the 2008 and 2009 have a better CVT. Steering is loose to the clockwise turning direction and gives nonlinear feedback in return. This vague steering gets worse with a bit soft suspension. A bit bothersome road noise. It looks good but needs some improvement....read morehide

Absolutely a very fun and comfortable car to drive. Consistent remark from people riding/driving is "Smooth and/or Sleek". Trim quality is comparable to Lexus & Infinity. Great acceleration from the 270hp V6, and CVT trani is awesome. Intellikey (push button locks & ignition) is really cool, eliminating the cause to ever take the key out of your pocket.
A little low MPG in city then expected to date, but only have 1500 mi. on the car (wife and son have been stealing it). That being said, haven't owned it long enough to really attest to "Reliably" or "Value", but am very optimistic. Feels very well built when driving. Actually look forward to my 75mi. daily commute each day, and loop exits/entrances....read morehide

I took a road trip this summer and avg 33mpg(mostly two lane). Combined, I am getting 26-28 mpgs. I love it. I have almost 12000 miles and not one thing faulty. For a middle of the road car around $25,000 it is great! Last winter I did a 4,000 mile road trip and got between 28 and 35 mpg. Wind direction makes a difference. Very compfortable on a 12 hour day....read morehide

Purchased the vehicle in Apr, thus far it's surpassed my expectations in all respects. Eighty-five percent of my driving is in the city and I'm averaging a combimed 27 mpg.

the car with the 2.5 has excellent power and handles very well, and still gets over 30mpg with four adults and luggage at highway speeds.

Nissan advertises 23 mpg city and 31 mpg hwy. I traded in my 4Runner with a 6 cylinder engine which was giving me about 17 mpg city and 20 mpg combined. I am getting a dismal 18 mpg in the Altima 2.5S 4 cylinder and 20.5 mpg combined! What happened to truth in advertising? If you are looking for fuel economy, look elsewhere. This is my last Nissan purchase. I will dump it as soon as it becomes financially feasible....read morehide
