I have been to the shop three times already with the same complaint about the steering making noise

I get a knocking vibration in the steering when driving. The shop told me that they did wheel balancing but i still get the noise. I am tired of fighting over this I will be writing to Nissan Headquarters becos now the delear is telling me that that is how the car was made. I do not agree with that. I'VE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 4 MONTHS NOW. THE CAR LOOKS GREAT BUT THERE ARE MANY FLAWS.
STEERING IS TO LIGHT, BRAKES ARE VERY VERY TOUCHY, THE ENGINE IS EXTREMELY LOUD, ESPECIALLY FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.
THE CVT TRANS IS NICE BUT TAKES TIME TO GET USED TO. I MISS FEELING THE SHIFT OF A TRANSMISSION. OVERALL THIS CAR MAKES ME WANT TO DRIVE AGRESSIVELY AND BEAT ON IT.. I HAVE NEVER FELT THIS WAY ABOUT ANY VEHICLE.......read morehide

Brakes were Squealing however Nissan replaced the part under warrenty

I love this card. My color is great. I have had this car for almost a year and it still looks brand new. It has great gas mileage and I fill up about every 10-14 days depending on how much driving I was doing. Love the keyless entry. Especially because I do not have to pull my keys out in order to open my car door or the trunk. This is a very excellent car. Great car all around. CVT is cool. Milage is great.

Cons

Back seat a little small. No lumbar support with my power seat option. Too many cup holders

This car is great. I tested the Accord and Mazda6 and the Altima was a better car in many ways. It feels tighter than the 6 and more responsive than the Accord. The CVT takes some getting use to, but I can't belive how responsive it is.

After spending $32,000 on my 2008 Altima you would think Nissan would want me to be happy due to this being my third Nissan product. I would not recommend purchasing because Nissan will not stand behind the cars they make.

My last two vehicles were SUV's (Tralblazer, Murano) and with high fuel prices I decided to shop for a car. I researched and test drove the Camry, Accord, Malibu and Aura, but I felt the Altima was the best car for the money (I thought the Aura was the best looking of the bunch). The 4 cyl Altima is powerful and responsive and the CVT makes the ride incredibly smooth. Most of my driving is city and I'm getting 23 mpg although not broken in yet. The keyless entry/ignition takes a little getting use to, but I'm getting the hang of it and the wife loves it. The interior is comfortable, but I think the front seats could use a bit more padding. Trunk space is huge especially with the fold down back seats, and again the keyless entry makes accessing the trunk a breeze. If anyone is in the market for a new vehicle don't leave the Altima off your list to test drive....read morehide

I really love this car, especially the keyless ignition. I didn't get all the extras to keep my price low since I get a supplier discount. Great ride, great mileage, roomy interior and not overpriced. I'm very happy w/my purchase.

i love this car. i was in the market for a compact but this midsized had the same fuel economy as cars far smaller. very smooth ride and very efficient handling. Get this car!!!
