Car is great and fun to drive. I am glad I got it. Complaints are minor and here are some: On occasion a few radio stations lose reception, water drips from roof down thru open side window onto inside of door or my pants (esp in morning with window down going up a hill). It's just a few drops, but annoying. With windows down and driving over 50, wind noise/fluttering is louder than usual. Cant hear the radio unless turned up a bit in that situation which is odd. Radio and other dash controls should be turned more towards driver instead of just straight to center, but looks damn good. The dash slopes forward and makes u reach a little, but not bad.
Trunk space is fine, better than my last car! Radio is great. Controls are great and looks great in daytime and nighttime. Still waiting on the floor mats from the dealer. Come on guys! Overall, car handles pretty well. Seemed not as tight around curves as my last car, but seems to get better as I accelerate thru curves. Hope it does fairly well in snow. WAnt to get fog lights eventually. Didnt come with them. Frost cloth interior is nice. Brakes are good ,but touchy. They work and that is what is important....read morehide

I purchased the 09 Altima coupe in January. I needed a car to go to school and drive to work. I didn't want to spend my life saving away in a car. As you may know base model is 21k which was in my price range but would drain my account. I've looked into the scion tc, toyota camry, and lancer. The Scion tc was priced around 17k which was good so i test drove the car and found it had lack of power going up hill and acceleration was pretty slow compaired to my 10 year old maxima. I liked the lancer but the rear was unpleasent to look at. I checked out the the Altima at the NY Auto show and I was impressed so I went to open road nissan to test drive the car. I was impressed of the 2.5 acceleration. It rivals my maxima which was a v6. I like the way it was designed it shared a lot of characteristics of a infinity g35 and a 350z. I got a great price for the base model that I couldn't pass up($18,500). I always had a thing for red cars so i picked red. Keep in mind it's not that fake red known as magenta or a dark red it was bright red.
I like gas mileage I get per fill up. My v6 had bad gasmialge every 220 miles i need to fill up. With the Altima I get 352 miles per gas up. Note I don't travel on highway mostly local and small freeways. The appearance of this car is breath taking. It has it's own look that makes your head turn. Like I said before it shares a lot of characteristics of the luxury cars but affordable sports car. The interior of the car has a standard radio that flows nicely with the design. The radio comes standard with a Aux in (ipod/mp3 plugin) which most cars you must put it as an option. There are 2 12volt plug in for your gps or cell phone charger. Handling is good on turns but upgrading/purchasing front and rear sway bar recommended (For those who want to hug the road in those tight turns). CVT is kinda strange you barely fell or notice when it shifts which for those who want a nice quiet ride is good. I'm still have to break in the engine i have not gone beyond 4k rpm. The steering wheel is easily adjustable for short to tall drivers. For the people who had problems probably never broke in the engine before jamming on the gas pedal. and for the review of the 12 volt light problem it's common sense not to leave it plugged in.
Things not so great... I was disappointed that a 09 car did not have hood struts. The seating in the front doesn't have that comfort level that the powered seats of the conv package. The 16" steel rim did not go with the style of the Altima coupe. Access of the rear seats is not that great if you are in a parking lot with cars next to you. Another thing is that for passengers in the rear they feel cramped at times (leg space). Not really made for having more then 4 grown adults.
Overall Altima coupe 2.5s is great sporty car. It's not for everybody but it is a fun car to dive around and eye catchy. Keep in mind when adding packages it gets very expensive. I think it is good for either 2 passenger car the rear passengers would be cramped for the entire ride. The coupe could use better handling on wavy turns. CVT is very quiet transmission and not to noise. I am very happy I pick the 09 Altima coupe.
For those who want to do mods I would recommend getting front and rear sway bar from stillen and the stillen hood dampers. For a nice exhaust sound that doesn't sound like a annoying screaming baby I recommend either the nismo cat back exhaust from nissan or stillen cat back exhaust. Also a injen shortram or cold air intake. You might want to consider a g35 spoiler and also might want to wait till your warrenty is about to end so you don't void it....read morehide

I loved this car when I first seen it on the lot, took me many months to attempt to buy it ( I don't spend money on new cars well LOL I'm a little tight with my money) I finally decided it was time to think about it seriously and I looked at few others, drove the Eclipse, had a great offer at a lower price but I when I drove my blue baby I knew she was coming home to stay! I drive an hour one way to work, so I put alot of miles on her but she has given me no problems at all. Great on gas (I had a Corolla before this so this was a big factor in buying a car), handles great too! Love the sun roof! I have grown ( teenage) children and its bit tight for them to get in and out of the back but they never complain ( I'm by myself most of the time anyway). and my husband is a big guy and he is comfy in the front. It is hard to see to change lanes and such with people in the car but other then that no problems. I have had her for 4 months and put 7000 miles with no issues at all!! Nissans history of cars that could get outlandish miles on them and still run excellent also helped sell this car for me! Its an awesome car, I love it!!!! I certainly recommend it for someone that wants a great looking, sporty car that still gets good gas mileage and driveabilty, not to mention dependability! You will fall in love with it!!...read morehide

this Is an amazing little car. I was trying to decide between this and the accord coupe. and ending up with the altima. I actually think the 2.5s engine is pretty zippy for a 4 banger and found the 3.5 an awesome engine but a little overkill for the everyday driver. I got the premium package which defentely makes the car feel ten times more luxurious. I absolutely love the interior as well the accord was a little busy for my tastes and i think the radio and climate intergrate nicely in the center stack and unlike most I like the soft touch kind of plastic.
The only complaints i have is the left side blind spot. Its one hell of a blind spot and i have had to adjust the mirrir to fully capture any car that drifts in that spot aside from that the car runs like a dream!...read morehide

I love my 09 Altima Coupe! It is one of those cars where you just like it more and more the longer you own it. I did not get the performance or the technology package, but as long as I have rims and a moonroof I'm happy. The performance package has a better sound system that I recommend you consider if you like blasting your music, because the standard sound system isn't too great.
The cloth seats are very comfortable and believe it or not, sitting in the backseat of this coupe isn't a terrible experience like most coupes.
The 2.5 is peppy. It COULD be faster, but it is by no means slow. I get around 40 mpg highway even though its supposed to get 30 or so, so yea....I'm very satisfied.
The steering is great in my opinion and the car hugs the road.
There are some blind spots especially when you have passengers, but not as bad as I expected for a coupe....read morehide

The electronics are space age!! Keyless ignition & CVT transmission are awesome. I purchased my 2009 in Jan. 09 and am still learning all about it's features and capabilities almost 2500 miles later. The Bose 9 spkr sound system is acoustically perfect as well as the 6CD in dash system. Superb gas mileage with excellent handling. The hands free Bluetooth is superior! Terrific vehicle....read morehide

In 16 months, drove 19,000 miles, never failed.
Good economy, winter 28 mpg, other seasons 32 mpg.
Last try (3 hrs on hwy) at 60 mph gave 41.6 mpg.
Outside shape and inside comfort - all to my satisfaction.
Info panel, keyless start and CVT - additional nice features.

I absolutely love this car! I have only had it for 2 months and it is beautiful! It drives very nice and the body is great. I have not had any issues or problems with it. Everyone compliments me on it. The only thing is that I should have gotten the premium package... but its still a really nice car. I love the fuel economy. Its really good with gas. So far the only thing I dislike is the small trunk space and the back seat. An adult does not fit comfortably in the back seat. Also, the transmission is a bit noisy but it doesnt matter because the audio is wonderful in the car! LOVE IT!...read morehide

I was the 1st person in houston to have this car. I am so in love with it . I get so many looks from guys and girls. The gas mileage is great and the dealer has been great about fixing any issues. I had this car for 2 years now and no problems as of yet. The on issue i have is that the back seat is so small, and the trunk you cant put anything in it. over all The look is great, it goes very fast, and the sound system is off the chain (while using my ipod) !!!!!...read morehide

I purchased the 2008 in May 2008. No problems and I have 10,000 miles on it. Driver's seat fits me like a glove. I bought the vehicle bare bones, automatic for under $20,000. It has a good speaker system and I just plug my iPod into the auxillary port and sounds great. Accelerates up hills just fine. Love this car! Glad to see they didn't change the exterior for 2009....read morehide
