I sold my BMW X5 to drive something with better gas mileage. I thought I was giving up acceleration and performance, but I was wrong. The Altima accelerates from 0-60 in just under 7 seconds when you need it, but I get about 38 mpg with combined city/hwy driving (I do use some hyper-miling techniques along with increasing tire pressure to 40psi), but I have been able to get 45 mpg on the freeway if I drive 55 mph and draft larger vehicles (at a safe distance). However, for the typical driver, if I drive it "normally", I still get about 32-35 mpg combined and can accelerate on the freeway on ramps up to speed in no time. It handles well and is very nice looking in the interior as well as the body design. I have received many compliments from my friends with "nicer" cars and they are thinking of buying one now because they were so impressed with the performance as well.
