First of all, keep in mind I went from a 2006 BMW 325i to the 2009 Murano. The vehicle handles exceptionally well, especially given that it is a crossover vehicle. The throttle is every bit as responsive as my BMW's and the handling is amazing. I got very used to being able to zip around corners and clover leafs at very high speeds in my BMW, and was afraid I was going to have to give that up for more room. Not at all! I also was not happy about having to switch to an automatic transmission after driving a manual transmission for 26 years. The CVT is a great compromise. I've always felt that other automatic transmissions were too jerky, not so with the CVT. Overall I have been extremely pleased with this vehicle, other than no automatic headlights....read morehide

We got rid of 2005 BMW X3 to purchase this car. No comparison in the two, the BMW may have handled a little better but was a noisy rattle trap. The Murano is very quite and smooth, the Bose sound system is even better than the one in my G37. The shopping bag holder for groceries is a big plus for the wife. All in all a very nice vehicle....read morehide

This is the most fun I have ever had driving! Everytime I get into my Murano, I feel special. The LE AWD model has all the bells and whistles and great quality.

We have owned this car for nearly one month and already have over 2500 miles on it. Outside of the headrests leaning too far forward (I too just turned them around), and the fact that it does not have automatic headlights (every car I have purchased in the last 10 years has had that), I just love this car. I went to the dealer to buy a Rogue because I had compared vehicles in the group via the internet, but was not impressed when I test drove the Rogue (I was giving up a Suburban). The salesman insisted I just try the Murano, and instantly I was sold!...read morehide

My wife and I searched long and hard to find a good compromise between a Caddy and a Jeep. We settled on the 2004 Murano LE with touring package. Road manners are very good except for the heavy handed steering input at lo speed. Off road is limited by lack of suspension travel and plastic parts unger the tranny. The CVT so far is trouble free for 67K miles. Throttle response is very good and after a little seat time the CVT is forgotten. Cargo room is as good as it gets in this class of car and seating is excellent. We love the leather heated seats. The HVAC is excellent and I love the Boise CD/Radio system. As with all the newer vehicles of this type, the inside of the windshield is a real pain to clean. It just seems to go on for ever. Interior lighting is very user friendly and adaptable to most needs. The sun roof is great option too. This car has the best brakes I have ever owned.
On the down side I found the price of replacement tires a bit high. The steering input requires too much effort and rear visibility is almost nonexistent at night due to the heavy window tint and lack of good backup lighting typical in America. An onboard rear facing camera would help. In retrospect I realize this was supposed to be a 2009 review so I will close with the notation that I would surely look at a 2009 Murano as a replacement in the future....read morehide

This is the best and worst vechicle I have owned. I love it because it is comfortable, spacious, and has enough pep. But when it came to getting the tires and brakes done it cost over $1,000 because of the 18in tires. And the vechicle just hit its 4 year mark and everything is going wrong with it.

My Murano is 3yrs old and running smooth, it is roomier on the inside than my old vehicle, love the pick up when I need to pass or change lanes. also the dual ac and bose stereo make driving a short distance pleasurable. I'm a little uncomfortable on the turns still,(I just my vehicle-used)

Loved this machine from the very first glance and test ride. The ride was smooth and flawless. The interior is very functional and sporty. No problems at all in snow and heavy rain. Great engine and power.
