I had no intention of buying a Nissan, but I'm glad it happened this way. I usually drive a large pickup truck. I didn't want a car, but now that I have this particular car, I really appreciate it. I am AMAZED with the huge quantity I can haul inside. The trunk has a hidden area to hide or separate items, or not, if you don't desire that. The back seats fold up/down easily to make a huge cargo space, and I joke with friends calling it my covered pickup.Lots of room. It seems this car was well thought out by Nissan: very large glove compartment, the dash is kind of flat so I can set things on it without them sliding off, plenty of space between myself and the steering wheel,no more searching and fumbling with keys- key stays in my pocket, also it hasn't allowed me to lock myself out (common for me), has smart car features, it has child backdoor locks and locking windows, there is a glow in the dark emergency trunk release inside, side curtain airbags in front and back seats, theft detection, two accoessory ports and other ports, bluetooth, leather wrapped steering wheel, user friendly radio/audio panel, and audio settings also on the steering wheel, great a/c and heating and fast front and rear window defrosting, easy to get in and out of car, low tire pressure indicator. I get about 32 mpg with the car fully loaded with stuff. I was getting 34 mpg before I loaded it down. There are so many more great features about this car. I also have free oil changes for life, so ask about that. I was surprised that once I bought the car, Corporate Nissan, or some affiliate, called me to see how I liked the car and if I had any complaints. They set up my first oil change and left me with the number if I had any concerns. This is one of those things where I walked into the dealership just looking, and came out with this car without having researched it. At first I couldn't believe what I had just done, but now, I'm really appreciative and glad it worked out this way. I've named it Zippy. This is a great car I plan to keep in the family....read morehide

Just bought this car new and I love it!!! Great gas mileage and lots of room. My husband is 6 2' and he doesn't complain. It's just the two of us so we magage fine but still has the room for more. I had a honda accord and I'm loving the nissan! It definatley does not look like the grandma-ish style I thought the older ones looked like. I get tons of compliments!!! We got great incentives also through Nissan Finance....read morehide

I've never owned a small car, but I decided I needed one now. I think this is a terrific car. I'm 6'3" and find it very comfortable, I don't plan taking it to California however. I also think it's quieter than some other smaller cars I looked at. I also like the looks better than others, very pleasing to me. I'm very satisfied with the ride, it feels like a larger car ro me. The CVT takes some getting used to. I'm not crazy about the Smartkey, keyless entry, but love the Bluetooth, every car should have it. Haven't had it long enough to know about reliability, but I expect it to be very good. I't's a well built car in my opinion. Overall, we're very pleased with this car...read morehide

I bought a 2009 Sentra SR FE+ for my daughter and she loves it. I have driven it on a couple occasions and I am almost 6'2" tall and fit in that car comfortably. The little 4 cylinder has plenty of pep and the car looks great. It's red with a ground effects package, spoiler and chromed exhaust tip and it all came at no extra charge. My daughter gets about 28 mpg but most of that is short trips into town and to school and back. The safety features is what I love the most. Front driver and passenger air bags, door air bags and side curtain air bags as well as an active headrest which helps prevent whiplash. I would recommend this car to any one!...read morehide

This Sentra is the best compact car on the road. It's fast, looks great, fuel-efficient, and has great interior space. The Divide-N-Hide trunk option is great for keeping important/expensive hidden from plain sight. The CVT transmission is great! I really like how Nissan included a Bluetooth system in this class of car...it's great! The keyless entry and ignition are really convenient. If you accidentally lock & shut the door while the car is off (and the keys are inside), it'll start beeping immediately, and unlock the doors for you!...read morehide

Well, I was a little hesitant to purchase a car that wasn't so highly rated as the Elantra, Corrolla, or Civic (although it is still a "recommended buy" by CR), but it had the features I wanted and the price was right.
Here's the skinny: Pros
This car almost can't be considered "small" It has 97.9 cuft interior and a comparably large trunk. Just for a comparison, the Altima had 100.6 interior cuft. We love the roomy feel and it works great for our family of growing boys.
The CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) is wonderful. It makes for a smooth and quiet ride, and delivers quick acceleration when needed.
Standard trip computer- Temp, MPG, DTE, etc was included.
The keyless entry and bluetooth are fantastic. This is an $800 package on my car and it's well worth the money if you spend a lot of time on your cell. The quality of the bluetooth in the vehicle at highway speeds is great- no problems, and it's easy to use. The keyless entry really took me by surprise. I didn't realize how much I could appreciate not having to mess with my keys!
Finally, price was a big influence. Nissan was offering a $2000 rebate along with my $4500 clunker trade in allowance, and then the dealer took an additional $720 off. This brough my out the door price (everything included, tax, title, fees, etc) to $13200. By comparison, the Toyota dealer had no rebate and wanted sticker price. Ouch!
Cons:
I really wanted alloy rims, but oh well...
The interior lights could be much better. The design is just cheap and simple.
Overall- I love the car. The biggest factors were price, space, and gadgets. If you have other considerations- you could easily come out with an Elantra SE (CR #1 pick) and my #2 pick.
All the best on your car search!...read morehide

Tight, stable cornering
High Roof line...great headroom, seating posture
Interior Spec V Trim...red stitching, seat belts, backrest logos
2 Gauges, 8 spRock-Fosgate
This car makes my day. I am not a weekend racer nor a big car tuner; but I like performance cars that deliver some fast and furious action once in a while.
I look forward to my everyday commute to work now; and my weekends involve a lot more joyriding (like driving 20 clicks just to get ice-cream). The Spec V is a joy to drive....and especially knowing that it's been compared to the 2009 Lancer GTS in acceleration, braking performance and overall pep. The Spec V foot print makes an easy job squeezing into that parking spot where 2 guys double parked at the mall or outside the Movie Theater. I love the low rev throaty sound too.
I don't think you can go wrong with this vehicle; I think it morphs the Mazda 3 footprint (somewhat), the Civic Si performance, with some GTi class. Get this car if you can; I got mine after a few cash incentives and rebates on a 0% rate; so I'm very pleased....read morehide

Ingeneral, I certainly would recommand this car to buyers. However, some basics might be a turn off to some of you, let's start with this: sports car that is sedan!!!!, I personaly dont care but some might. Metal pedals, G force, Sports seats, Fuel consumption (I recommand high octane for this bad boy ;-) ).
You get good value for what you pay for sure. and it will keep you happy. Ive been with Nissan for the past 8 years and never had problem except during snow-storms, we get in Montreal which I was advised to get GIZLAVIT winter tires for SER models. It is highly recommanded. STAY AWAY FROM GOODYEAR FOR THIS CAR...read morehide
