Bought this truck a few months ago and I have never regretted the purchase. I owned a Mazda B4000 prior to this purchase. The quality of build of the Frontier is far superior. Handles better, better finish, looks better. Can't say enough about it. If you're a music lover like me, you may want to consider the Frontgate sound system upgrade since the factory radio has no aux input which is a must have nowadays for MP3 use. This truck has plenty of power and stability for heavy loads....read morehide

I've owned nothing but pickups for the past 12 years, full size, mid size and now this compact small pickup, well first off its far from small, I have the long wheel base crew cab with the tailgate down and bed extender the bed is just shy of 8 feet long, makes the turning circle quite big. Lot's of power, this truck will flat out fly, loves to cruise at 75-80 mph without effort. I have 27,000 miles with no problems at all, my only complaint is the key remote fob works too good, sometimes I set the panic button off while in my house with keys in my pocket. I traded a Dakota for this truck and it made me realize what a real P.O.C the Dodge is, this V6 has 50 more horsepower than the Dakota's V8. Nissan just doesn't know how to market this truck. I let my son drive it and a month later he bought one for himself....read morehide

Owened 2008 Tacoma 4dr SR5 4X2. Price made me look at the Frontier. Glad I did. It is a lot of truck for a lot less money. Rides, drives and handles as well as the Tacoma. Gas mileage is a wee bit less but you can buy a lot of gas with the $3000 you will save. No timing belt to replace. Has Timing chain. More powerful than the Tacoma. Does not a funky transmission that down shifts while going down hill at low speeds. Toyota does....read morehide

Just picked up my new '09 Frontier after 8+ years with my '01 Frontier S/C Crew 4x4. Both are bright red with black leather (red stitching). They are as close to the same vehicle as possible - just with 8 years separating them.
Two comments: Should have got one with the roof rack and sun roof. I miss both of those options from my '01.
The Rockford Fosgate stereo with Bluetooth and XM radio is worth the money.
I looked at all midsize trucks. This blows away everything except the Toyota Tacoma. It was a difficult call between the Nissan and the Toyota. It just came down to the fact that my '01 Frontier was one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. Decided to try another!
The 4.0L engine will satisfy anyone - plenty of power - and no more whiny supercharger that cut's out when you need it most (towing/heavy loads). (although that was a cool truck).
5 speed auto (no 6 speed manual option on the crew :( in Pro4x trim) shifts very smooth.
Gas mileage is 18 - 19 even around town if you keep your right foot under control... This blows away my '01 that struggled to get 13 (and needed 91 octane).
My only disappointment is the steering. Way too much road feedback. If you hit a pot hole on the highway, you'll know - as the steering wheel get's jiggled in your hands. My '01 was much better in steering feel. Given that gripe, it handles much better overall.
The '09 is much larger inside than my '01 - nice for the family!...read morehide

This is a great truck, feels very stable on the road and has a great feel. Ford, Chevy, Dodge cant match this trucks ride style and performance. I purchased a new 2000 frotier 4x4 crewcab and still have it. My total repairs have been to date under $500 and two sets of new tires. If Nissan keeps making quality like this I will never go back to the other automakers. My 2000 frontier has 128,000 miles....read morehide

I traded a Silverado for this truck. I have more horse power better performance and reliability than the Chevy and the Chevy had a V-8. You really have to drive one to understand the performance that comes from the Frontier it will amaze you when you step on the gas make turns and brake where other truck's just CAN'T. Oh ya I have a 20 gallon tank and when I go on a long trip on the interestate I have a 500 mile range to a tank of gas, hows that for gas mileage in a truck....read morehide
