I picked up my Subaru Legacy 3.0R on September 7th and loving it! I previously owned a Infiniti G20, 5speed, loved the car, but was sorta sluggish. After I purchased a 2006 Honda Accord EXLV6 manual tansmission and it was definitely a sweet car. After taking ownership of my Honda, I did have to get my drivers side window repaired, front brake pads replaced and on my LED lights went (all within the first 6 months). Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed in the beginning, but afterwards it was great! I've driven manual transmissions all my life and now it was time to get into an automatic, so I went with the Subaru. I was tossing between the IS250 and the Legacy, the IS250 is sharp, but WAY too small and if you read the reviews, not as great as the reviews i've read about the Subaru Legacy on here....I was amazed! So far the car has been great, have a bit over 1,500 miles and it's SO solid, nicely built, it's weird when accelerating, but that must be because of the AWD, takes a while to get used to it. I purchased the car at Flemingon Subaru (NJ) and they were wonderful! The gas mileage isn't as great as the Honda, but not by far, especially considering it's an AWD. Also, the real nice thing is that you don't see too many Legacy's on the road, so it does stand out on the road. I purchased a Newport Blue Pearl with a Cream Leather interior....BEAUTFUL!
I would definitely go with another Subaru, the buying experience was so nice and easy going!! I walked into a Lexus dealer and it was a totally different feeling. Thanks Subaru!!!...read morehide

After an exhaustive search for the right AWD sedan, I purchased a 2009 Legacy 3.0R Limited. This car has about 250 HP and every feature one could ask for- leather, nav, satellite radio, 18" wheels, 6 disk CD, AWD, sport suspension, paddle shifters on the leather wrapped wheel- and on and on. But besides the impressive laundry list of what's on board is the intangiable: This car is a smooth rocket. I have never experienced pickup or torque like I do on this Subaru. There is a reason multiple reviews compare this to the BMW 3 series and Acura TL. And it's $20,000 less! Bought mine for $23000 (a steal) a month before the '10s come out. If you can get your hands on one, this is one amazing car....read more...read morehide

I test drove an 09 and the only reason I didn't buy one is because I got an amazing deal on a Mazda6. In just about every category, with the exception of size, this was the nicer vehicle. The ride quality for such a small car is amazing and the AWD is extremely useful for anyone in a cold weather climate. If I had to do it over again, I would have spent the extra $4k and got the Legacy....read morehide

I wanted an AWD sedan and this was priced reasonably and they gave me 2.9 % financing. The build quality is above par. It handles like a sports car but not to firm. I have only put around 400 miles on it but I love taking it out to just drive around, its fun.

I have owned my Subaru Legacy 09 since January. I previously owned a Honda accord for over 12 yrs. Things changed and i needed a car for driving further in BAD weather. I did extensive research and considering AWD without having to use premium fuel the Subaru Legacy was a wise choice. I can tell you this Car is OUTSTANDING!! in bad weather. I had this car in SNOW, Extreme rain down pours and it was FLAWLESS!!! I was so impressed with the handling of this vehicle in bad weather that i couldn't wipe the smile from my face. Gas mileage city is around 26.4 but highway i am getting 33.7. This car has a Harmon Kardon sound system that is sweet especially if you use audio input jack for your mp3 player or IPOD..all sound Good!! both were tested. I have logged over 15 thousand miles and no problems to date. Interior: Heated leather seats are nice and supportive and my girlfriend loved how warm they got..:) Driving viewablitly is excellent no blind spots. If you are looking for a dependable car with AWD, desent gas mileage, great handling, quietness and 5 star Safety features you will not be disappointed. I will definitely buy this car again!!!!!!!!
The Cons: Possible 5 speed may improve gas mileage...read morehide

This is my first Subaru. Got the car as black on black. The leather is soft and the heated seats make it even better, if you live up north. I have just drove the car for over 800 miles and still feel perfect (no problems). This car is not meant to race down the road like an Accord, or its own brother (2.5 GT Spec). It more of a gentle drive. If the demand of power is required (ex: from a light) the first gear kinda kicks in slow, other than that, its a smooth gear change.
The interior of the car, the doors and its handling is what made me
like it soo much. The space in the back is good- but not that great. But a lot better than the rear space found in the Lexus IS. This car is good if you live in a snowy place cause of the active all-wheel drive but not good if you live in California (unless ur a Subaru freek!!). They say this is a green car, but i am not sure of it.
There was one thing that concerned me then I got this car, are the windows well sealed against the rubber? Well, of course yes, but i was not satisfied. Took it in the rain, car wash, snow..no problem. I was a satisfied customer.
The car do turn heads...but much as u expect....read morehide

I bought my GT after test driving it and nothing was going to change my mind. The feeling of driving this car is unmatched by any car in its price range and category. The all wheel drive system paired with the active safety features (torque distribution, vehicle dynamics control) really gives the driver a feeling of "ultimate control" over the car. Handling in inclement weather is amazing, you will never spin out or lose control on wet roads. The fuel economy is actually better than listed, especially in Intelligent mode of SI-Drive. I can average 22 or 23 city and about 27 or 28 highway as long as you don't floor the gas pedal all the time. There is so much performance, safety, and reliability that comes with this car, which really makes it that much more appealing when comparing it with other cars in its class like the Accord, Camry, Altima, or 6. It also helps that the dealership was great to work with throughout the entire process. if you are unsure about Subaru or the Legacy in genral, I would highly recommend going in for a test drive. It certainly opened up my eyes....read morehide

I trade in my motorcycle and my 2006 outback for this beautiful car couple of month ago for a 08 GT limited, and I enjoy driving it every day. When switch from the inteligent mode it's like you are driving a sport car. Great car for the money.

LOOKS- Nice looking car inside and out. COMFORT- It is comfortable, but for me and my son (age 19), we get sore butts after about 1/2 hour of driving. DRIVING- The handling is good and you feel safe with the ALL-WHEEL DRIVE (not available in most cars in this price range). It feels underpowered to my me and my family, but we still like it. My daughter got a Mazda 3, and to me, this car is so much better. GAS MILEAGE- only so so - we are getting about 21 miles per gallon.
