By far, the best vehicle I have ever owned. Would not have been practicle when my children were young, tough to get in and out of the back seat. Handling and visibility better then I had assumed and this vehicle will go anywhere. May not be a good choice for a small person, perfect for a tall person. Got a AT because of much better milage. Great value compared to other SUV's....read morehide

I bought my 2008 FJ in January of 2008. I now have 42,000 miles on it and have had zero issues. We hike and flyfish a lot and can take the FJ WAY off road. Have crossed deep creeks and driven through mud, sand, and rocks with no problems. Of the many cars and pickups I've owned, this is my favorite vehicle. It's been great for road trips. I installed a second fuel tank, which lets me go 600 miles without a fill up- a highly recommended mod!...read morehide

I have had my FJ for about 3 months and it still a blast to drive. I have never driven a vehicle that is as balanced as this one. I have a camper (3500 lbs) and it pulls it flawlessly. I have the sub-woofer in the back and there is no better stereo out there. I have owned and driven many cars in my time and this by far is one of the best....read morehide

I have owned many vehicles to use both on and off road... While ones like the Range Rover and Lincoln Navigator sucked mechanically and kept breaking down, my Wrangler was awesome off-road, but a rough road car... I have owned my TRD White FJ for a year now, driven twice to Montana (& 4-Wheeled), dozens of trips to my remote cabin by Flagstaff- four-wheelin' is a blast, and I find I enjoy even driving it daily over my two Mustangs. I find no visibility problems, like others have said, if you know how to drive?.... Workmanship is fantastic, and I am about to supercharge it and continue the fun!... Again, I have owned many vehicles in my life, and I do believe this one to be the best over-all......read morehide

Rides and handles great both near empty and when towing at it's limit. Not only is great off road but it is fantastic just cruising down the highway. Many people see the boxy style and think it is not aerodynamic but it's 0.4 Cd is slightly better than the SUV average of 0.41! Keep in mind the best car sold today has a Cd of 0.26 and a Hummer has a Cd of 0.55. My FJ has about 50k miles with much of it towing a dual axle trailer with a car on it and I average about 18 mpg towing! Not one thing has broken and it has never needed any type of repair....read morehide

I've had roughly 30 vehicles ranging from muscle cars, to full size trucks, to several Toyota 4 X 4 pick ups from 1985 on. This is just about my all time favorite of them all. I average 19.8 mpg with 50/50 highway & city driving (keep in mind, I don't have the roof rack and I keep the tires inflated to near max, if you get the roof rack and run 30 psi in the tires, you'll get about 17mpg, I also use amsoil synthetic oil in the engine and gear lube in the axles & T-case, this made about a 1mpg addition).
It's fun to drive, plenty of power, rides great, built like a tank. I do all my own maintenance on it because I like it that much, I don't want any jiffy lube jockies working on it. I haven't done that in years. I like the way it looks, LOVE the visibility out the front and sides because of the windshield being near vertical.
If we had kids or needed to put passengers in the back seat a lot, it wouldn't be that good for them because the back seat is a little cramped. I've let many friends test drive mine, every single one has come back, handed over the keys and said "I want one". Simple as that. This is one of the last Toyota's actually made in Japan (check the vin number, if it starts with a "J", it was made there, if not you are buying a Toyota likely assembled in Mexico with parts from China!). I like this car so much, I want a second one....read morehide

This vehicle in comfortable to ride in. There is a lot of storage space.
It's just a fun vehicle. I live in a rural place lots of dirt roads etc..I have no problems with my FJ. The only thing that is a problem is that after having it for only a few days the windshield had two cracks in it.

One of the best-built vehicles I've driven. Excellent offroad & in bad weather. I got the 4x4 auto and get 20 mpg. It can switch from a great piece of camping equipment to a supermarket cruiser in a snap. It is tricky for adult passengers to get in the back seat but tons of headroom & comfort when you do get settled. Lots of child safety-seat hooks and the rear seating is great for kids. Good storage behind the back seat. Be aware of some rearview blind spots... back up with care. Enjoy!...read morehide

I don't know why people are talking about the Blind Spots, I CAN SEE BETTER IN THIS VEHICLE THAN ANY OTHER CAR, All you need is a small 2"x 3" Angled Mirror at the bottom of your Side Mirrors.= NO BLIND SPOTS!!!! you can get them at autozone or pepboys for about 4 bucks...and parking in a parking lot space is EASIER if you back into the space and use your parking sensors..... On the windshield problem, you need to install a stone/bug Deflector on the front hood..... if the stone is large or heavy enough, well no vehicle can survive that! also if you want to get better Gas Mileage, install a cold air intake system and use ROYAL PURPLE motor OIL, you can gain about 5 miles per Gal....read morehide

Toyota please do something about the windshield problem of FJs. my FJ is barely 25k mi and i have to replace the glass because it was hit by a small rock. now the roof of my FJ has some damage due to the difficulty of replacing the glass.... other than that, I LOVE MY FJ CRUISER.... if i break my glass everytime a rock hits the windshield, i might be forced to trade it in(it's sad to let go, but i cannot afford to change it's glass everytime...)...read morehide
