I did my homework online and after looking another compact SUV's, the RAV4 was a no brainer. I am not a fan of the cheap black plastic that many other small SUV's use, another reason why I chose the RAV4.
I get about 26Mpg with 800miles on it...and getting better mileage by the week. It has alot of cargo space. A friend is thinking about getting a RAV4 instead of a Highlander after he saw the space and the gas mileage.
It is fast for a 4 cylinder and rides great. Only thing that bothers me is the antenna, it hits my garage door because is too long, I had to buy a short one at Autozone....read morehide

This vehicle has more than met my expectations for practicality, economy and most of all for driving fun. Also, I have to admit...I look cool in it!

I use the 3rd row seats approximately 5-8 times a month to car pool kids. The seats work great because you can pop up one or two as needed. When I don't need them they stow flat into the trunk for groceries, etc. I am small (5' 2") and I can sit back there no problem - though I would not like to be back there for a long trip. It definitely meets my family's needs (2 adults and 2 kids normally in the car). The third row seat enables us to take a friend for each of our kids to do activities or for our parents to ride with us if we go out to dinner or to some activity. I also love that the 2nd row seats have the ability to move forward/backward and have the ability to tilt - especially for long trips. I use to have a Highlander prior to this (older model with 3rd row seat) and it actually got better gas mileage than this smaller vehicle. This car is fun to drive, easy to park, but I only average 21 mpg. This vehicle has not been too small nor too big for our family's needs. I would definitely buy it again!!...read morehide

I have never been proud to drive a car. Cars are conveyances; modes to "b" from "a". Until the 09 Rav. It hurst sometimes to think about how fly this car looks. But it's not just sweet on the eye - it's got enough power to pass on the highway easily, enough space for the soccer team, and an mpg gauge that will eventually kill me since I stare obssessively at it.
The V6 only takes more gas and if you're a city driver with nothing to prove you will never need the optional two cylinders. The Base model is perfect....read morehide

You will enjoy the comfort for a small SUV. Good power and excelleration for a 4 cylinder. Loads of storage space and easy lowering of back seat from the back of car. Comfortable front seats for those long drives. Good access to controls. Purchase 17 inch wheels. Good gas mileage for 4x4 vehicle. Good value....read morehide

I bought 6 cylinder trim of RAV4 on 2008, July. I am driving this car since then and it is really a pleasure to drive a vehicle like this. I drove many Cars and SUVs but to be honest this is one of its own class. This is tremandous fast as compared to any SUV and the control is simply superve. Excellent turns and overall reliability is awesome. I am a true fan of this SUV and I think it will be hard for me to find a better vehicle than this one later if I want to upgrade. The interior is simple but very efficient and thoughtfully designed. I would recommend any body any day to buy this instead of any other SUVs of the same class....read morehide

Outside of looks I enjoy a good average ride, good gas mileage. I live in a harsh winter (snow) and hot summers need air. I'm not the most astute foot on the pedal , when I need power I go for it and get it. With 10,000 miles, lowest 18.5 mpg (winter) ,highest 27mpg (mostly highway and some city) Overall average is 22.5+ combined city and highway. Plenty of cargo room for groceries and dog and peoples. Nice lumbar support and easy entry and exit for folks with back aches. I like having a full spare. Doesn't look as cool as CR-V but more practical. Also this car has a nice arm rest for your right arm and storage, big enough. Good spot for emergency brake, not on floor. Drive may be a little bumpy for some, but considering where I have to drive I don't know of too many models that will give you ideal creature comfort. I would buy another toyota. The RAV4 I have is simple, easy to understand, with no frills and no chills....read morehide

After looking at the Honda Accord, Honda CRV, Toyota Camry, Toyota Rav4, and Acura TSX, I purchased my 2009 Toyota Rav4 Limited V6 4x4 almost a month ago - just hit the 1,000 miles mark on it today. This is my first Toyota - I see why people are loyal to the Toyota brand - this is a well built, solid vehicle. The car is fully loaded V6, leather, 4x4, push button smart key ignition, bluetooth, sunroof, JBL 6-CD Premium Audio excluding the Navigation System and the back-up camera. The bluetooth is great - every car manufacturer should be using this technology. No more trying to find my phone to answer it with the bluetooth activated. Premium Audio system rocks! Gas mileage has averaged between 20-22 depending on need for speed plus the majority of driving is city not highway as I live in the city.
This is my first "foreign" car. My last vehicle was a Chrysler made in Mexico - go figure. I have not used the 4x4 yet since I purchased in May, 2009 so I can't comment on how it handles in the snow....read morehide
