2009 Toyota RAV4 Base I4 4X4

I Love the 3rd row seat that is 2 separate seats!! Really fun to drive and practical overall.

Cons

Too few cup holders, more power points needed, and would prefer better mpg!

I use the 3rd row seats approximately 5-8 times a month to car pool kids. The seats work great because you can pop up one or two as needed. When I don't need them they stow flat into the trunk for groceries, etc. I am small (5' 2") and I can sit back there no problem - though I would not like to be back there for a long trip. It definitely meets my family's needs (2 adults and 2 kids normally in the car). The third row seat enables us to take a friend for each of our kids to do activities or for our parents to ride with us if we go out to dinner or to some activity. I also love that the 2nd row seats have the ability to move forward/backward and have the ability to tilt - especially for long trips. I use to have a Highlander prior to this (older model with 3rd row seat) and it actually got better gas mileage than this smaller vehicle. This car is fun to drive, easy to park, but I only average 21 mpg. This vehicle has not been too small nor too big for our family's needs. I would definitely buy it again!!...read morehide

You will enjoy the comfort for a small SUV. Good power and excelleration for a 4 cylinder. Loads of storage space and easy lowering of back seat from the back of car. Based on reading reviews about the noisy and uncomfortable ride of this car we were reluctant to consider it, but as we had driven almost every other competitive model without getting a great feeling from any of them, we decided to try the RAV4. Once we did, we decided to take it out for an extended drive and fell in love with it. Not sure why so many people are complaining about the road noise and bumpy ride, but the 2009 Base model 4X4 we purchased is nothing like that. I bought this over chevy equinox..that was the worst mistake ever. The ride on this toyota is so rough and loud. I have to turn up the radio just to get some relief. I will never buy a toyota again and do not advise anyone to do so.

Good news! '09 RAV offers 3rd row seating. I drove one.
BAD news! Lack of legroom, normal 5 feet 5" pessenger can't fit in. I really dissapoint with this impractical feature. Due to small engine size, gas consupmtion is extremely bad when i put 4 adults 3 kids in this car. Not to mention NO ROOM for our luggage. Really dissapointed with Toyota this time....read morehide
